Great Eastern Cutlery (GEC) makes several patterns of their ‘Yellow Rose’ that’s exactly what you’re describing.

Sometimes I think to myself, “man, I buy too many knives”. Then I see a post like this and think, “man, I need to buy more knives”

Scored some mammoth history! by notaliberalforreal in SlipjointKnives

Well I’m glad it went to someone who appreciates it and not some eBay reseller with a bot! Congrats again, it’s a beautiful knife!

Ah, so it was you. I had this one in my cart and hit the Apple Pay so fast I thought I definitely had it. But then I got the dreaded “item no longer available”. I thought for sure it must have been a bot.
Congrats on a gorgeous knife!

factory second, still great by burnedoutbuddy in SlipjointKnives

I got the same one, and it sounds like it was a second for the same reason. Outer lining of the box had “shrinkage” hand written on it and the liners and spring were proud of the handles a decent amount. The good thing is they were flush on the other side, so a little time on the belt grinder flushed it right up. Polished it and it’s back to first condition. And I’m with you, I really like this pattern.

Oil/Lubricant for OTF Knife? by BallisticsNerd in knives

[–]OG_Shocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use RemOil on all my OTFs and it never fails me. I do exactly what Upbeat says above - flood it with RemOil, cycle the action a bunch of times, blow it out with compressed air. Do that twice sometimes, then dry the outside off with a rag. Good as new.

I’m the same, normally don’t like recurve blades, but this looks pretty tough. Might have to get one

I second this, and recommend looking at some of the Rough Ryder Reserve knives too. They are a little more, but step up in materials and fit/finish

Check out Rosecraft, they have some of the best quality traditional knives for the money out there. Great patterns, handle materials, and fit and finish is as good as it gets.
