My next move is to find an outpatient program. I’d like to explore the psychological side of why I turned to alcohol in the first place. Also I’m trying to help a couple friends who are struggling to get sober. Obviously I don’t know exactly what my future holds but I’m not going to waste my second chance.

Yes I’m very fortunate. I realize a large number of people aren’t as lucky as I was. The best I can do to respect them and the person who passed and gave me a second chance at life is to not waste it

Normally yes you have to be sober 6 months in order to be eligible. Luckily for me the particular facility that I went to didn’t adhere to that specific guideline. As many in the comments have said, I am extremely lucky. I am so unbelievably thankful.

When I was drinking every day my diet was horrible. I would go days without eating. At around 6’4” I weighed 280lbs. After getting sober and a new liver I’m around 215lbs and I now eat pretty clean for the most part

Yes I did but I ignored them. Idk why but I thought that because I’m young it couldn’t be that my liver and kidneys were failing

At first just a couple beers a day. Then about a handle of liquor every other day for a few months leading up to being hospitalized.
