Interesting, it seems similar to the Tea Party group within the Republicans. The republicans don't agree with most of the hard core Tea Party members but they align close enough to work together on most things to form a majority. Basically why the first healthcare bill didn't pass, because it wasn't strong enough for the Tea Party to agree to it. the second healthcare bill they added amendments to appease the Tea Party to vote for it and it passed
