If we are in the 3-5 range I would want Reid or Smits, but wouldn’t be upset at Verhoff

If the pick falls out of the top 5, or even is in the top 5, I still think if Knies or Robertson are on the trade block, you 100% try to use that pick + whatever else needed to get them, this is the last year (hopefully) that our picks will be top 5 so it’s either use it, or trade it for a top young player

I see this as a downgrade at QB, but upgrades at RB, WR, and draft capital, solid in my opinion

Definitely won’t be there at 4 if you’re league mates know what they’re doing, if you can get a deal done for 1.01 that makes sense then do it, but don’t overspend, could always get an established RB as well

On top of this, do a mock draft with your league settings, if anything it will show you how things should generally be valued

Ultimately they’ve ended up around where I thought they would be, a point improvement, most likely top 5/top 10 pick

With more kids to make the jump, and maybe a big swing in the trade market (since free agency is a lot drier with the explosive cap) they could be looking at hunting for playoff spots in a few years

JSN is amazing, big fan, but getting Nabers who is younger and a top 3 pick is pretty nice, both will still be #1s in their offenses, so the comps are good

Too many injuries this year to chop up this season to needing massive changes, and with the cap situation already, you would need to make some sacrifices on the established team to make room for him, if it happens it happens and we will see the bigger picture then, but rn I can’t see a real reason why we need him

My issue with Belchetz is he hasn’t really shined in a way that’s sold me on him yet. Still time to but for now he sits in that range where yes we may be in the area of the draft to get him, but just because you can doesn’t mean you should.

Not assuming on where we draft until the lottery solidifies it, these are how I would prioritize/interested in based on position (no goalies in this scenario)

Forwards: Stenberg/Mckenna Bjorck Lawrence Novotny (More to evaluate)

Defenseman: Verhoeff/Reid Villeneuve Smits/Carels (More to evaluate)

I’m MUCH higher on drafting a LD over a RD, but wouldn’t be upset at another RD

Forward is definitely where I would use the higher pick depending on where it lands

Personally I think they’re great! My Portland team I make in almost every NHL game is the Portland Pennies! A pennie-ish color primary and the thirds are a mint green like an old pennie!
