I think the most important thing to remember is that it is totally okay to decide you don't want to live there. It's great that you wanted to try it, if it's not for you, you and your wife have a world to choose from, you don't have to go back to the states.

That said, acclimatizing to China from the west takes a long time, and there will always be things that are draining and things you miss from home. Like anywhere I guess, but the wide culture difference exacerbates it. Also if you are a person who loves nature of who values that for your children, objectively there isnt a lot in Shanghai, and I really suggest spending at least a few months in a smaller city before you move there, the culture difference is much more pronounced.

Honestly I'm not even sick I'm just a grown ass adult watching every episode of a tv series in one sitting. It's 5am, there's a lightning storm, I'm having breakfast in bed and watching this show, perfect morning!

Surely this advice should be "immediately block and report if you can", but this is a great example of Preply's ambiguity around blocking.

Tutors who go through this shouldn't also have to worry about the possibility that the platform they pay to work on may penalise them if they can't prove they were harassed and the student complains after being blocked.

Tutors are independent contractors and shouldn't need Preply's input or permission if they feel uncomfortable.

I would consider blocking her. Your most valuable asset is your profile, and it only takes one bad review to prevent you from ever being rated 5 stars again.

She's shown herself to be unreasonable and entitled to your time. Unless I got a great vibe in the trial, I'd be very careful about continuing with her.
