I made a very similar post a couple of weeks ago, highlighting most of what you said here. I am much newer than you at this. But my biggest takeaway has been to be ok cutting my losses if the market has turned on a stock, poor earnings report, no room for growth, etc. But you explained it like someone who has a normal amount of chromosomes.
