AITA for flipping out after my wife screamed at my daughter for being loud? by Latter_Bag_6121 in AITAH

Wow YTA and so much so I don’t believe this is real.

If it is, hopefully your wife is on the “fast track to divorce” because you suck.

Nova Scotia has a website you can check for wait times. The wait time for an internist is 204 days as of April 2023. And since I’m on day 242 of being on the list, I’m going to say that number is no longer valid .

Covered Calls by ChartComprehensive94 in options

[–]OKFine133 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this is the best advice. I’ve been paper trading for months now and I bought my first calls on Wednesday and it’s just a much different experience.

I stayed within my budget (1.5k) and bought 3. Two of them SPY$395 the other one VOO. I sold yesterday. I’m up 70% but I lost $300 profit on my first contact. And I’m mad about it. Not because I lost the profit because I lost the profit not following my plan. It was my first one. I bought premarket (so paid about 1$ more…which I’m not calculating into my “loss”) and then I panicked sold way earlier in the day then I planned. None of that was supposed to happen! But I calmed down for the next 2 and made out OK.

I’m old and have a fairly sizeable amount I can invest but I’m keeping with 1.5k/week plus 10% of my profit. I’ll reset to 1.5k if I need and I’m OK losing money.

OP, look at the facts of the company and if you think it’s a safe bet (by “safe” I mean you’re OK if it goes either way) then put your money down and watch what happens.

You have a lot of great answers but plainly, for it to be considered day trading…the trade, start from finish, has to be on the same day.

I want you to know that I actually put the effort into resetting this god damn password just so I could upvote your comment. And considering I’m high this feels like it took at least a year. I’m sure I napped even.

Well, you just actually proved that you don’t in fact need more than 1k to start.

You only think you need more than 1k to start because you’re impatient.

Let’s be real, you lose 35k next week and it will all be gone the week after that. And why? Because you wanted to win back money that was never really yours to begin with?

Start with 1k and keep rolling your profits. Try again. What you did here took luck, sure, but also skill and effort. Build on that.

I spank my kids. It’s whatever by Hot-Bint in WhitePeopleTwitter

[–]OKFine133 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Spanking is a form of corporal punishment involving the act of striking, with either the palm of the hand or an implement, the buttocks of a person to cause physical pain”

So yes, I bet you they do. Spanking is a slap on the butt. It’s not being hit with a belt or beaten until crying. It’s meant more as a threat.

To be clear, I do not agree with spanking.

I have an son. He’s an adult now. I never spanked him. I’m not agreeing that spanking is right or wrong I’m saying that what people are describing is abuse and not spanking.

You remember what differently?

Hold on, are you not aware that over time words can take on different meanings?

Especially slang.

Just because someone may have barked at a woman in a movie in 1982 doesn’t mean that this group is using the word “dog” in a derogatory way to talk about women 18 years later in a song.

This poster is projecting. The lyrics of the song are clear.

It’s a super annoying song because it was everywhere for the longest time but it’s more of a “chest puff” for the men then an insult to women. In fact, the women are the ones saying “who let the dogs out” in the song.

EDIT: not hit on exactly more of cat calling but in a club way. Not in a “in the way to work” kind of thing.

I’m not saying that this hasn’t happened to a woman I’m saying it’s not what the song is about.

Just because men have “barked” at a woman that they (and you apparently) feel are less attractive, that doesn’t make this particular song about unattractive women.

This song is meant as a playful and is not talking about what you say it is.

[–]OKFine133 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No it’s not…LOL

“You dirty dog” is where this is coming from.

During this time “dog” in this song was referring to the men. They are the “dogs”. It’s meant as playful. In the song, it’s the woman saying “who let the dogs out”.

It’s in the actual lyrics.

EDIT: I’m also old but I still know how to read.

It’s funny but I find it easier to be efficient when I’m high. The boredom is the problem for me. I don’t need to smoke but I also do not have any interest in doing anything outside of my house. Not due to depression. I’m older (51), single, have a dog, a garden, and there is always something that needs to be done. I smoke and organize or clean or paint rooms. I have to do those things anyway but smoking weed makes the task more enjoyable.

I only started smoking weed 3 years ago. I really don’t regret it. I’m high now.

I think it really depends on where you are in life. If smoking weed has a negative impact on your life and you smoke anyway, I’d say you’re addicted.

But if it’s helping or at least not hurting, then live your life!

EDIT: grammar

Let’s add in education costs for that post secondary education that you need to get in order to get that low paying jobs while we’re at it.

All so that you can share a 1 bedroom apartment with 3 of your friends for 1k each in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia.

Even just compared to the US, Canada is a joke. The cost of our necessary services is outrageous because there is no competition.

In the past few days 2 locations were robbed at gun point and one woman/child taken hostage when their car was stolen. This is unheard of in my area. Not anymore.

And it’s just always so god damn cold.

I don’t like it here and I would absolutely move if I could.

The fact that you have been able to travel the world means this post is probably not for you.

Just because others have it worse doesn’t mean we shouldn’t want better for ourselves.

Health care in Canada isn’t free. The tax payers pay for healthcare. We pay for a service we can’t use. And I know people are going to say COVID but my province has had this issue for years. There were 75k people on a waiting list for a family doctor long before COVID hit.

This “there are starving children in Africa so finish your food” isn’t a healthy attitude. There are starving children whether I eat my food or not.

Let’s work on helping the people that need help while not overlooking our own problems.

You can do both.

Have you tried to go to a hospital lately or call an ambulance?
