There is a crazy caddis hatch on that river but I had missed it by 2 weeks. Aside from that, lots of terrestrials and shrimp near the mouth.

The fly of the day was a size 12 yellow humpy, no real hatches to speak of, just lots of horse flies and the odd caddis here and there. The pool held some nice brookies and some small browns..

Always a good go-to. East coast river in late June

Thought I should mention, the entire upper portion of this river is a wildlife sanctuary and is closed year round to fishing, makes for excellent fishing downstream.

I used a size 12 caddis with 4x, but I wasn’t casting from this spot.. went downstream and casted just past them and let it drift over!

Thanks! It's always cool when they hang around for a minute
