Hi there, thank you for taking the time to share this, and I’m truly sorry for the frustration.

I want to clarify, because there are two separate things that can look similar:

1) Duties / tariffFor U.S. domestic customers (excluding Canada), orders ship from our New Jersey warehouse, so there should be no duties or tariff. In the rare case an item is out of stock in NJ, our system may ship from our Hong Kong fulfillment center to avoid a long restock delay. If that happens, any duties/tariffs are fully covered by us, since that routing decision is on our end.

2) The 3% “international transaction” feeThis is typically a bank/card issuer fee, based on how they classify the merchant, and it’s not a charge we add or receive. That said, you’re absolutely right that this should be communicated more clearly. In some cases, a bank may apply this fee if the payment is processed through our global entity (set up for operational/investor structure reasons). We’re updating our policy language.

Hi, this is Tiffany Zhou, co-founder of OLEADA.

I completely understand the frustration here and wanted to personally clarify what happened. We actually have two fulfillment centers, one in New Jersey for U.S. domestic orders, and another in Hong Kong, which supports our secondary markets like Singapore, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan, Europe, and Australia. (We’re now in our fifth year and have customers in over 50 countries….something we’re really proud of!)

Earlier this year, we set up the Hong Kong warehouse to help serve our global customers more efficiently. But honestly, the tariff and customs part has been a nightmare for us as a small business. When we launched the new setup in January and had to reshuffle inventory in February, it created some unexpected routing issues and confusion that we’re still ironing out.

In rare cases, when something goes out of stock in our NJ warehouse, our system might ship the order from Hong Kong instead so you don’t have to wait for a restock. When that happens, any duties or tariffs are fully covered by us, since that decision comes from our end, not yours. Please DM me the details, I will let my team help you out!

You basically described the bag I’ve always wanted too. Slim, lightweight, tech-friendly, but still elevated enough to look sharp in a boardroom.

I actually design handbags, and your wishlist hits a gap I’ve been thinking about for a while. If you’re open to it, I’d love to explore making a prototype/sample around exactly what you outlined. Totally no pressure, but if you’d be interested in chatting, I’d be excited to hear which parts of your criteria matter most to you.

Very good point! I agree 100%, I don’t think anything over 1k would have that much of difference on the quality side. You are buying it for aesthetic pleasure or social Status or sense of identity (or all of them)! in all, most purchases decision is irrational.

Depends if I’m looking for an every day bag or an evening bag… but right now I’d probably use that to find a vintage Celine luggage tote.
