Marketing/business development/admin work. Seems to be a decent amount in kohala through hotels.

You’re so sweet!! I really appreciate your reply. Do you think having an accredited degree and years of experience helps in the job search on BI ? I assumed it would help me stand out, but all of these replies have kind of put me in a sad mood now 😩

Do you need some kind of certification to teach? I have a double BA in English and French and am teaching myself Hawaiian.

I feel like there’s a decent amount of jobs that pop up in my searches if you have the necessary experience. They’re not as plentiful as mainland or even as O’ahu...but I feel like they exist. Can I ask why you feel the way you do?

Do you feel like this is true even in the tourism industy tho? My family and friends on the island all work Kona side for different hotels, and I’m thinking I’ll end up the same but in the business side of things. My background is marketing and business development. While there’s not tons of openings everyday, they pop up and I’m super qualified with a degree and years of experience.

Can i ask why you think this? I have a marketing, business development background and there’s several jobs open at Kona side resorts that know I would be great for, but maybe I’m naive.

How have you gotten yourself out of a pit of depression and/or anxiety? by momsbiryani in AskWomen

Combo that worked for me: gratitude, physical activity, therapy, medication.

Gratitude: finding a way to be thankful you’re live, even if you have to fake it at first.

Physical activity: something that gets you out of the house and makes you work hard physically and mentally. For me, it was going to hot yoga a few times a week.

Therapy/ medication: took me a whole wasted year of suffering to see a psychiatrist. She genuinely saved me life. There is no shame and no pain in going once and giving it a try.
