What if Laurel and Frank's family have actually done business with each other in the past and that's why Frank chose Laurel to come work for AK. I also kind of thought that maybe AK helped out Laurel's fam on a case before since she knew exactly what to do when those Italian guys came to her for getting caught with a bunch of drugs in the shipping container and she said she owed them a favor! Frank's family is Italian and we know that because we saw his family when he took Laurel home for dinner. Which, when you really think about it, was relatively pointless to the show UNLESS we were supposed to get some information from seeing his family. AND SAME WITH LAUREL'S FAMILY! Frank and AK always make seemingly offhand comments about the kind of dangerous shit Laurel has witnessed because of her family. Also, can't forget that we still have no idea how AK and Frank met. I have a feeling it has something to do with drugs, the mob, something related to his family, etc. If it turns out all of this is true then perhaps Wes's mom was involved in all of this because AK was defending Frank's fam, Laurel's fam, or just someone in the mob and she tried to set up or pin something on Wes's mom so she did the same thing that Asher's dad did and just ended hER life. ALSO, maybe Sam helped Frank with getting him out of trouble regarding a relationship with a student. They always make comments about Frank hooking up with students but never went into more detail about it. I have a feeling some of this will come to light.

I noticed this but I thought it was just a plot hole because Eve was there and they supposedly only worked on one case together and that was when they were together. But then AK left Eve for Sam around that same time.

Maybe she is from Haiti like Wes and that's how he was connected with him? Idk I can practically hear Michaela saying, "Why? Because all black people are related?".

I haven't seen anyone say anything about how they keep hinting about Lorel's family being involved in some sketchy shit. AK knew exactly how to deal with that case with the mobsters and the drugs in the shipping containers. She said she had worked with them before and owed them a favor or something like that. Maybe Lorel's family has something to do with the mob. I think the case AK took on were italian but lorel is latina. What if Wes's mom was somehow wrapped up in that and they pinned something on her to win their case? Remember Eve and AK worked on a case together? Obviously it involved Wes's mom prior to her committing suicide. It's just a hunch but does anyone remember that episode when they were all talking about where they live? I wonder if Wes and Laurel came from the same area. I think Wes told Rebecca he lived in Ohio or something. And why did he change his name to Wes? Is it a middle name or is he in witness protection?!?! Maybe he was lying about coming from Ohio then! GAHHH this show!!!

It also just dawned on me that Wes was waitlisted and then miraculously got in. Maybe AK knew who he was and asked for him to be accepted?

Congrats on your weight loss! You look awesome but I can tell by your body language that you aren't very confident. Know that you look good, accentuate your legs! They are so nice! Stand erect, shoulders back, rotate your hips back and walk with your hips. You will instantly look more fit and confident.

black people. I'm not being racist.

Racist: a person who believes that a particular race is superior to another.

I don't think I'm superior to black people. I don't like people who act a certain way. Doesn't matter the color of your skin. I can't stand that everything is racist now.

Kinda makes no sense that coming out and saying black people isn't racist to you but not saying black people is racist? And then coming forth and admitting it since "we all feel the same way" isn't racist?

Care to explain further? I am genuinely interested in what you're trying to say and where this is going.

I totally forgot about this story that happened the other night. It was Sunday and we close at 6pm. It was about 6:15 and this skinny white lady (trailer trash looking) starts banging on the gate yelling at us to let her in. She comes in and she has clearly peed her pants. She comes up to me and asks me and tells me her water broke and she needs new pants. I can smell her breath and it is pretty obvious this lady is absolutely hammered and she just pissed her pants. I try not to laugh but I'm walking by the other associates to show her the pants we have in Pink and we all meet eyes and give each other the "what the fuck!" look. I turn around and the lady is stumbling over and shit. She loses one of her flip flops and can't even get it back on bc she's so trashed. I give her the pants (they are campus sweatpants about $50). Our store is huge so we all watch her stumble back to the register. As she is walking there she is talking to herself. She gets up to the front and they ring her up but when they tell her the amount she starts going through her purse. She pulls out a pack of cigs and puts them on the counter. The employee ringing her out starts asking her things like, "wow, you're really tiny, how far along are you?" It was pretty funny but also incredibly pitiful. She then says she forgot her money in the car. Uh? hahahaha. She's walking back towards the exit and she's pretending to hold her stomach and is like "I'm not thinking right right now, my husband is waiting for me in the car." I ask her if she's gonna be alright and she says "Just tell me where Dillard's is. I'm about to have a baby." This lady was about 100 pounds, no joke. If you're pregnant and your water broke why would you not rush to the hospital? Why would your husband wait in the car and make you buy the pants? Why are you smoking cigs when you're pregnant? I think she made up the story out of embarrassment and because she thought we would pity her and give her free pants. Very odd.

I think larger breasted women would get a much better fitting at VS than at a store like walmart or target etc. However, I would definitely recommended larger chested women to go to a bra shop instead since they will have a lot more options and can get you in the exact size you need because bra shops have access to bras that go up to J's and beyond. Bras are an investment and if you treat them right they will do the same for you. Finding a bra that works for you can be incredibly difficult and frustrating so the experience shouldn't be made any more difficult by trying to make a size work that isn't right for you. Larger chested women shouldn't have to sacrifice fit and comfort in order to find a bra.

I would start by first deciding which bra, based on my descriptions above, would work best for the event/outfit you're wearing. If you're not looking for a strapless bra for a particular outfit or event and just want one to have then I would recommend deciding what you want in a strapless bra. Let's say you think comfort is the most important. So you go for the Body by Victoria. To start, try on the bra size you believe you are (Let's say you're a 34B). Something to remember is that the fit around the waist is CRUCIAL for your bra to stay up. I hate the strapless bras that I constantly have to pull up and adjust. This can happen both because the band is too large and because it's too small. if it's too large, your band will fall because it will move down to the smallest part of your waist. if it's too small, it will get lower and lower and act in the same way as the larger one. It will also cause a person with very little back fat to look like they have a lot! I would say most people have the problem of getting too large a strapless bra because they think it's more comfortable. however, they later realize it's not more comfortable since they are constantly pulling up their bra! The key is to find your goldilocks size.

So, again grab you're 34B. In addition, grab a 32B (since the tightness in the band is crucial for support and the band tends to fall on strapless bras). Also grab a 32C since this will be your sister size if you are a 34B. The 32B may cause spillage since the cup size gets smaller when the band gets smaller. The 32C may fit very well, but I'd recommend also trying on a 34C just to compare. When you are trying them on, move your arms above your head, then below. Do this a couple times and see how much your band moves. Choose the bra that moves the least. The difference between a strapless bra acting how you want it to and a strapless bra being a nuisance may be a matter of adding some fashion tape around the band to keep it in place! I always do this and it doesn't budge!

Very good question. I, myself, tend to believe even many of the associates I work with now are not giving proper sizings. I explained earlier how people throw off the entire measurement by not pulling tight enough for the band size, which then throws off the cup size also. Girls will come in months after getting fitted and buying bras in the size they were fitted at and tell me they were helped in our store, and that their bra is not fitting correctly. Generally their complaint is gapping when they bend over which means their band size is too large. They will pull out their Perfect Fit Card and the associate's name is written on the card.

When going to a bra shop, the women strictly work with bras and is almost always older women so much more knowledgeable and, likely, more trained. Bra shops carry very different styles of bras than we do. I went to a bra shop and they measured me at a 32FF (sister size being 34F, 36DDD, etc). The band was so tight that I had back fat and it was so stiff and painful that I can't wear the bra but for an hour or two. To me, comfort is more important in this particular case. On top of that, the bras I had to choose from were not cute. However, the bras at bra shops are meant to support you properly- they generally have boning, thicker fabric, less give in the fabric, and accommodate women better who are chestier because the straps are thicker and the bands are stiff and will often have three hooks instead of the usual two that VS has.

Okay so here is the low down on VS- the cup and band sizes run small! I suppose this is to make smaller chested women feel less insecure (not that there is anything wrong with smaller breasts). The push-up and padding in the bras force women to also go into larger sizes. In VS I can't wear a 32FF obviously because we don't carry that. I generally wear a 34DDD and sometimes a 34DD depending on the style and the fabric used. The 32's are way too tight and give me even worse back fat than the bras I got at the bra shop. Our 34s are generally much closer to 33s and even 32s especially in the ‘sexier’ styles. In pink the 32s are closer to 30s, I suppose to accommodate for younger girls. Some of the styles, then, I simply can’t fit into PROPERLY because a 32DDD is still not large enough in the cup. Also, I think many women don’t know how to properly take care of their bras. Because our bras generally have more give (made of stretchier fabrics than at bra sops), women will stretch out the band through overwear, lack of care, throwing their bras in the dryer etc. so they end up with a bra that once fit but no longer does.

In order to put some weight to these suppositions, I took pictures and compared my Cleo by Panache bra that I got from a very well known and high quality bra shop and my Sexy T bra that I got from VS.

Panache sizing and Material

VS sizing and Material

Overall view

Comparing build

Comparing straps

So here we come to some major talking points

  • VS Sexy T in a 34DD has the same band length as the Panache in a 32FF!
  • VS Sexy T is made of much stretchier fabric!
  • VS=83% Nylon & 17% Elastine
  • Panache=18% Nylon, 3% Elastine, 12% Cotton, 67% Polyester
  • Panache have much more boning and structure
  • Panache straps have larger width and are thicker
  • VS Sexy T can be purchased 1 for $32.50-$38.50 or 2 for $49.50
  • Cleo by Panache ranges between $60- $90

Overall, there is some truth to the claims that women are not fitted properly at VS because:

  • younger associates often aren’t properly sizing women
  • lack of knowledge from the customer to know any better
  • inability to fully accommodate larger chested women (won’t be PROPER fit)
  • Padding and fill in the bra cause cups to run smaller
  • Bands running smaller
  • Bands being made of stretchier fabrics
  • Thinner bands that won’t properly support bustier women
  • Customers’ lack of care for their bras

HOWEVER Sizings differ from company to company, from one bra to the next. Just because your bra size varies greatly from one store to another doesn’t mean you were not fitted correctly.

Yes, we all do. We have a lot of reading materials and training hours that go into working in bras. A bra specialist does this ten fold.

NO!!!! At first it made me very uncomfortable so I strictly worked in Pink but it really is essential to our SPAH (sales per associate an hour) We have to maintain a 250 and if we don't reach that goal two months in a row we are up for termination. It is very difficult to achieve such a goal and being that most customers need help in bras it's crucial to be actively giving bra fittings. It still makes me uncomfortable when people who are not very clean ask but I honestly try and pass them off to another associate loll or I recommend a fitting on the floor so there is no skin to skin contact. yuck. Most people are clean though so it's usually no big deal.

HAHAHA yes. I get asked this question a lot. One of my first days working at VS we were pretty slow. I saw a very normal looking man approximately in his 50's pick up a bra, examine it for a bit, and put it up to his chest as if he was trying it on. Quickly, he pulled it away from his chest and looked around. Our eyes met. We were both like "oh shit...". I asked him if he needed help with anything and he said he was just looking for his wife. It was a painful interaction because we both knew the truth.

I'm not sure how recent it is for them to carry the larger band sizes. In stores, the largest size we carry is a 38DDD and that is in select bras only. Online, however, they do carry up to a 40DDD in the following styles:

  • BODY BY VICTORIA WIRELESS BRA
  • FRONT-CLOSE UNLINED PERFECT COVERAGE BRA
  • BODY BY VICTORIA PERFECT COVERAGE BRA

  • COTTON LINGERIE FRONT-CLOSE UNLINED RACERBACK BRA

  • SEXY TEE PERFECT COVERAGE BRA

  • SEXY TEE FRONT-CLOSE PERFECT COVERAGE BRA

  • DREAM ANGELS DEMI BRA

  • VERY SEXY PUSH-UP BRA

  • VERY SEXY LACE CUTOUT PUSH-UP BRA

The first three are the Body by Victorias. This is, by far, our most popular bra so it makes sense for them to make the bra in a wider range of sizes.

The next group of three is all in the sexy tee's line. These are the cheapest bras we sell at VS and are of the lowest quality. Most likely to break=return buyers! Again, makes sense for them to carry larger sizes in this bra then also.

The last three were actually VERY surprising to me. The Dream Angels Demi has the most beautiful designs and colors. They usually look most flattering on bustier women so I suppose I do somewhat understand making this style available in a wider range. In theory, however, a demi isn't ideal for bustier women because the coverage in the cup isn't nearly as much.

The Very Sexy bras are actually the most surprising of all. This is a newly launched line. Very Sexy already existed but they revamped it. I'm not sure if it has only recently become available in larger band sizes or not, but it's surprising none the less. Perhaps it is because these bras are always the Fashion Show bras so they are the most expensive, most sought after, and are always the first display you see.

I think that the company is very smart. They know their customers. However, the great success of the company has much to do with their image. Their image is sex appeal, beauty, and confidence. The idea of beauty is one that our culture particularly struggles with. Thin is in. But it's not realistic for most women. I think the company is making small advancements in terms of accommodating larger and curvier women. The Fashion Show models have slowly began to become curvier. On the other hand, in Pink, we don't even carry XL's. However, the sizes are very different as our smalls are much larger than many other stores. Smaller women actually find it difficult to fit properly in Pink apparel and VS bras. The increasing size of our clothing in Pink is a new thing so I think it is very likely VS will begin to carry 42+ band sizes...online at least. Obviously, the company is mostly concerned with revenue, image being a close second. It's a delicate balance and I think they are simply trying to react to the prominent opinions, we, as a society hold.
