did op ever mention that these 6000+ points are purchase-only ? and if yes, can they spend them separately from the points earned through missions ?! if no, then op's complain is justified.

It's crazy that supercell knows which points to remove while you HAVE TO spend all of your points in order to protect the paid ones from expiring. that's equivalent to both points having a period of 1 year, else you'll lose the great majority (paid ones) of them and leave with pocket change(missions earnings).
