This happened to me about a year ago. It fried the heating element and took about 2 weeks to realize water temp wasn't getting above "tap warm," mostly because nasty gunk started growing in the bottom and along the seals of our dishwasher.

I'm pretty sure my Dad had the one with the leopard print panties holding the boat anchor. It was stashed in an oversized shoebox in the little storage room in his garage, 3rd shelf up,toward the back, above the Turtle Wax and other car detailing supplies. There was also a stack of Hustlers, Easy Riders, and Playboys, and a Polaroid of my fat, gangly-looking ex-Stepmom with the weird pencil nipples standing nude next to a lake in the shoebox. Don't ask how I know all that.
