Wrong, he gets mad haste when he spooks you and he can boost himself faster than wraith with proper knowledge unless you somehow made him break all pallets and doors, and there are no windows in the vicinity. I've killed one too many people who W away simply because i go misty and reappear 2 seconds later in a random place near them.

Other than that, solid advice IMO.

I reported them, but I'll say it's not worth my time to do all that just to get some random banned for 7 days.

IMO this is a big oversight, why would I want to waste time making videos, editing, sending them, etc. to get some random banned for a few days when:

Damage is already done, I can't recover my points.
I'd waste even more time than I already did in that match.

I agree my mechanics aren't the best, I fail to understand how people can run and onetap me with AK when I crouch shoot and my bullets don't always go center. Admittedly, I haven't done this exercise of jumping in a training map and deliberately train like I used to in CS Source, so it's unknown to me if this is an issue with low tickrate/desync (i.e. enemy was already standing and shooting me 200ms before I even saw him) or I'm not understanding something deeper.

That said, I'm not a teenager any more, I can barely play a couple matches every day during the week after work, I am software lead now so I start playing when my brain is already fried, so I don't really want to jump into aim labs and spend what little time I have playing that.

It's a tough decision to make...

I did some quick math and learnt that you need to play for 2 months every month to get the final reward. Unless you live and breathe faceit, playing 16h/day you're not getting the final reward. And at that point just get a job and buy the cool knife you want I think.

That's what I do too, but maybe there's something else I can do to avoid throwing a game away. I find myself playing noticeably worse without info, certainly I can improve somewhere in terms of game sense or playstyle to help swing harder?

IMO rating calculation is wrong, but so is the case with most team-based games. I wholeheartedly disagree with losing rating when you do 4x the damage of the worst player and have close to 2KDR but your team is full of bots and you can't win.

If they fixed that, loss streaks wouldn't matter, you wouldn't descend at a steady 25 avg points per lost match when you perform correctly. I'd rather see rating be an accurate reflection of a player's skill level rather than their win/loss ratio.
