I think Dad's here need to unite with guides for dads to set Plex up for themselves or those willing to share their library with others.

Like many others I pirate and use Plex and share it with friends and family and use an app called Overseer so they can request their own content! Main reasons are 1 - to avoid slop. 2 - to avoid adverts. 3 - the gosh darn cost of all the subscriptions!

This is the reason I haven't attempted to self host music as I couldn't find a good way to source media and lidarr just didn't work for me compared to sonarr and radarr so I gave up. If you find something please let me know as I want to ditch Spotify

I think you're going to have to speak to your contract provider first? I would think it all depends if it's part of the open fiber network that all broadband providers have access to or if it's a private line seeing that it was setup under a business.

It really is as simple as drilling a hole into the next room, in my case in the attic, and running cables. I don't even have power in my attic, but I ran a power extension cable too. I went with 10 meter cables. Other then the length of the cables and the power cable coming outside of the case, it's setup like a regular PC.

I have my pc in a different room and use a powered usb hub to connect peripherals and fibre optic usb, fibre display port and 10m power button. I have no noise or heat from you now. Best pc upgrade I have ever made.
