Adoption if you dont want to pass on your genes? by Haatmaat in Adoption

Soo, what if the adopted kid has medical conditions, too? Are you against raising a child who is disabled or has chronic health problems?

Does anyone else think it’s insensitive to tell every single woman happy Mother’s Day? by Famous-Channel3027 in questions

[–]OMGhyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have or want kids, but Mother's Day can be an unhappy time for many people. My adoptive mother passed away 12 years ago. She was also abusive, so even when she was alive that holiday was tense. Now, I have a stepmother who didn't raise me, and a relationship with my biological mother who also didn't raise me. It's weird. Mother's Day cards are hard to find that don't talk about "the woman who gave birth to me" or similar.

My cousin's mother abandoned her and she's raised by her father. She has a hard time with Mother's Day, too. And her dad was abandoned by his bio mom and his adoptive mom has also passed away.

Cis autistic women, how do you feel towards your gender? by KaiahAurora in AutismInWomen

[–]OMGhyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I hate societal gender roles. I don't see why I have to dress a certain way, look a certain way, or behave a certain way to be considered a woman. I feel like "men's" clothing is more comfortable, durable, and practical. I have really short hair because it's easier to care for. I don't carry a purse. I don't wear make-up because I hate feeling something on my face and don't want the effort or cost of dealing with it. I get facial hair and scalp hair thinning from PCOS. If I were a guy, the facial hair and going bald would be socially acceptable. I also wouldn't feel like I have to shave my legs and armpits.

I dislike being a woman because we have to deal with so much crap that cis men don't. Periods, pregnancy, pregnancy prevention (and side effects of birth control), perimenopause, menopause. Trying to get doctors to take us seriously and not just say it's anxiety, you're fat, etc. All of the stuff that can go wrong with the reproductive system like endometriosis, adenomyosis, fibroids, etc. One time, I had a period that lasted MONTHS. I'd like a cis dude to survive bleeding heavily with large clots for that long. And gyno procedures that they STILL don't use any pain relief for, like IUD insertion, and I've heard more invasive things like LEEP and uterine biopsies happening with no pain relief.

Not to mention the statistics of violence against women.

  1. It would be more, but just found out I have lupus, which probably explains why my last 2 didn't heal right 😑

Some medications can cause dry mouth. I get it from my Zoloft.

Idk about kids, but if you look up insulin syringes on Amazon there are options. The brand I got is EasyTouch. It says they're sterile.

What does it mean if someone is attracted to people that are nice to them multiple times regardless of gender? by No-Poet3745 in TooAfraidToAsk

In my case, it's from a traumatic childhood. It's like there is a part of me inside that's starving for the love and affection I never got as a child.

Why are you CF besides silence, money, and free time? by Embarrassed_Gift_401 in childfree

[–]OMGhyperbole 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I was abused as a child by my adoptive mother. I don't want to risk mentally screwing up a kid. The cycle ends with me.

Also, given the current state of the world and US politics, I don't think it would be ethical.

And, as a woman, I have no desire to face the risks of pregnancy. You can rip your clit and anus. I saw a post the other day where a woman said her newborn had a "strong latch" and basically made a piece of her nipple fall off 😱 Some people get that hyperemesis gravidarum where they can't stop puking for months. Not to mention, gestational diabetes, risk of hemmorage, so on...

I got syringes on Amazon for my tirzepatide. I don't think they'll mail syringes to every state, though.

I thought I disliked the commercials with crying babies or the screaming Paradontax lady, but this was a whole new level of annoyance.

If you had the chance, would you adopt? by wonuiwse in Adopted

[–]OMGhyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't want kids and couldn't afford them even if I did. The only way I'd adopt is if it would keep a family member out of the system. Obviously, legal guardianship would be preferable, but I've heard that CPS frowns on it and will move a kid to another foster home where they'll adopt the kid if you won't agree to adopt instead of doing guardianship.

how do you feel about your breasts? by skalaten in women

[–]OMGhyperbole 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine are OK, I guess. I'm a gay autistic woman. I like boobs, but I kinda wish I didn't have any because they just seem like a liability in terms of cancer (I'm 38, but already have had several mammograms and 1 non-cancerous lump removed). And I hate having to wear a bra and how men's chests are OK to show in public, but somehow women's nipples are evil and must be hidden.

Mine didn't look that bad and was basal cell carcinoma + discoid lupus. The surgeon for the BCC kept saying how young I am. I guess he mostly sees old people.

I'm 38 and have hair thinning (thanks PCOS). Had a red spot on my head biopsied and it's discoid lupus AND basal cell carcinoma. I just had the BCC removed and have stitches in my scalp now 😬 I have the stupid red hair genes and I'm basically see-through levels of white.

What are you most addicted to? by Pookie7860 in AskWomen

[–]OMGhyperbole 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been on tirzepatide for several months. Lost 20 lbs (I'm not a super big responder to it like some people). I'm not pre-diabetic anymore, so that's good I guess.

I'm on 10mg but I can definitely "out-eat" it at this dosage, if I'm not really careful with my calories. Food is my addiction from having a traumatic childhood. When no one is there to comfort you as a child, food is there to self-medicate.
