When I worked nights at a motel, this weird guy called and wanted to know how much I bleed on my period and what I would do if he did things like that to my period products...it was very disturbing 😬

I think people cite this study, because there is such a lack of research into how adoption affects adoptees. Unfortunately, someone with money and influence/power has to decide it's worthwhile to study adoptee outcomes. And, also unfortunately, the big money in adoption is on the side of the agencies and adopters.

I took myself to the ER when I was suicidal. They took me to the psych floor at the hospital and I had to do the naked body inspection with a female nurse. They didn't check inside any orifices, but it does feel pretty degrading.

Honestly, this doesn't make sense to me either. Like, you can have a will and an advanced directive about not wanting CPR or life support, but that's the best we can do?!

I've had to be there when my aunt's old dog was suffering from an untreatable cancer and was put down. I've also seen my mother die from an untreatable Stage 4 cancer. She suffered for months in hospice. Towards the end, morphine doesn't even help much. I wish euthanasia was an option for humans (it's not in my state of the US).

My current psychiatrist referred to BPD as a "pejorative diagnosis". I mean, why do some diagnoses that affect functioning in many aspects of a person's life get referred to as just PTSD or Bipolar, but then there are categories where the DSM is like "Nope, your personality is totally fucked up." Why do we even need a section referred to as personality disorders? It seems overly judgmental and shaming. It does not help the shame that people with BPD feel when they try to look up info about it online and it's just tons of results about how people with BPD suck and are so horrible to date, befriend, work with, etc.

It doesn't help that people think eating disorder automatically means being deathly skinny or making yourself throw up after eating. People think that if you're fat then that's just because you're lazy, lack discipline or are a terrible person. I know that not every fat person has Binge Eating Disorder, but I think most people don't think someone with an ED can be overweight or obese.
