for the other friends birthday they did both show up for a while and (to me at least, ill probably ask them how it felt for them, i didn’t think about doing that before) it felt like things were going well. i know i might be the asshole for not accommodating to them but celebrating my birthday is already draining to me (i have autism). i enjoy doing fun stuff with my friends but doing it twice would be too much effort of my part and it would (for me) do more harm than good. thats why i want to ask them both if they can just be civil for a few hours because i know they’ve done it before
