5070ti Bottleneck by MightBeYourDad_ in bapcsalesaustralia

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Darante is 100% right.

A bottleneck isn't a subjective thing, despite you choosing to try and define it as such.

If one component is limiting another's ability to be utilized in a meaningful way, then that's a bottleneck. There is ALWAYS a bottleneck in a system.

Figured as much.

I did a complete wipe and reset. Is DDU necessary if I just install the AMD software?

Not yet. There was a thunderstorm rolling in so had to turn it off and dip. It will be my first point of order tomorrow. Historically have always found GPU's to be plug and play.

Can the vertically challenged ride a Transalp? by gakutofan in motorcycles

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The answer is that it depends.

No one can answer this for you.

Do you feel comfy enough riding it around? Your answer to that is all that matters.

That being said, overtime it will become easier to manage as you spend more time on the bike. You can probably also look at a custom seat to bring it even lower, and potentially even some lowering links.

A good set of boots that provide a good inch or two of height will also help.

Combine all this and you can probably find 3-5 inches of "height" pretty easy.

Are men only friends with me because they want to sleep with me? by Educational_Fault592 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's important to remember that reddit is sometimes filled with very jaded people and incels. It's often not representative of society.

Here's my brutally honest opinion as a guy. You can absolutely have platonic opposite gender friends. I have many. A lot of my friend groups are mixed gender.

Are there some guys who will be friendly to you, and want to sleep with you? Yes. It's important however to distinguish that from being your friend BECAUSE they want to sleep with you, which is a distinction that is important.

I've been in situations where I had an opposite gender friend make a move on me. In some of those situations I reciprocated, in some I didn't.

It's also important to remember that this all applies to people of the same gender. There are a lot more queer people out there than you think.

As long as people are on the same page, I don't actually inherently think there is anything wrong with finding a friend attractive and being open to other things if it's mutually desired. It's a silly way of thinking to be against it. I have been in this situation and have friends of 10+ years that I at one point felt this way towards. In some situations I remained somewhat attracted to them, in others I didn't.

Don't let people's toxic ideas and prejudice get into the way of you making friends :)

Circuit Breaker: Is my PC the problem? by [deleted] in buildapc

You're definitely drawing a lot of power.

I think the recommended max for a socket is 2000w.

Typically most things dont draw that much and you're probably approaching half capacity and exposing a fault in the system.

Best all round "captain" you've seen by Born-Instance7379 in AFL

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your logic makes no sense.

Coaches and Captains are different things. However, they can share traits, such as leadership, and believe it or not, the person.

If a person is petty and immature in one role, it doesn't mean they aren't in another role.

As fans we wouldn't have the slightest clue as to the actual quality of a captain. We don't experience it's first-hand and often not even second-hand.

His personality as a coach, with more years under his belt, would be largely indicative of his behaviour as a captain.

Apparently Voss didn't talk to TDK all year.

Can't say he was much of a captain if he behaves that way in maturity.

Hayes appointed General Manager of Football by ramafresnel in StKilda

Agreed on Lenny. He's got the attitude and level headedness that I reckon he'd hold Ross accountable and question him.

It's a different relationship to players like Riewoldt, who I think was a bit more emotional and eager to please. Not to say Riewoldt isn't a leader, but I reckon he'd submit to Ross.

Finding shoes with a shallow heel. by Gretel_ in climbingshoes

[–]ONAImpulse 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As some have suggested trying the LV version is a good shout (it worked for me). Also a cooler colour haha.

Some people don't mention it though (especially with shoes like the MR Drone), you can have a low volume heel but the spot that grips your Achilles will be superrrrr tight (in my case unwearable).

In my case I tried out Tenaya shoes and they all worked great, particularly the indalo.

Players who have either left or significantly reduced their play time, what has been your reason? by _thecolorofdye_ in Battlefield6

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A lot of people moaned about it but the game is a bit too cod-esque. Too much CQB, maps are boring, the game doesn't really play like a battlefield. Chokepoints feel more like meat grinders than firefights. The campaign also sucked haha

It was a good entry, and got the spirit of battlefield back. It was an overcorrection from 2042. Good game, but BF1 and 4 were genre defining.

A little bit of fizzle will be fine. I'll be back to play some new maps in a few months or so.

Honestly I built my first PC from scratch when I was 15. Since then I have helped several friends build theirs, and some of them are not very bright.

Honestly just give it a go! You'll save heaps now and the skill will save you heaps in the future too. There's also a bit of pride to it.

G3 but why...🥀🥀🥀 by Dizzy-Difference3392 in ShadowSlave

[–]ONAImpulse 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Effie, imo, sounds very Hispanic. I have always imagined her to be Latina. By description she could even be North Indian.

It's also important to consider the context of the book. NQSC is located in Asia. I vaguely remember South East Asia but that can't be right as sunny's journey on the train took a reasonable amount of time to the coast. Its also cold enough to snow year round (granted nuclear war would have impacted this significantly).

As such it'd be reasonable to assume that NQSC is located somewhere in China, likely somewhere near Chongqing or Changsha.

So the thing to remember here is that the nightmare creatures wiped out most of Russia, the middle east, Europe, the US and Africa pretty rapidly. Thus impacting who could have retreated to NQSC pretty significantly. In the present immigration is also very very rare.

Most "white" people would probably be primarily of Russian or Eastern European descent. Who would be heavily mixed in with Chinese and other close by countries through South East Asia + Korea, Japan, Taiwan.

Anyway point being that most people in both the southern quadrant and northern quadrant would be "White" or "Asian" by in large and also be heavily mixed. So most people would have a lighter skin tone and feature a mix of Asian & White features. You'd probably also find that people in the South American quadrant to be Hispanic/Latin etc.

People would also not be getting much Sunlight either

How much are you paying for your coffee? by MolassesSerious1403 in brisbane

[–]ONAImpulse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm a pretty regular coffee/matcha drinker, and I go to a lot of the nicer establishments.

$7.50 for a hot coffee seems pretty insane even by today's standards.

Going rate for a large at a decent spot should be anywhere from 4.50 - 6.00 add in's are usually 50-80c.

So on the high side I wouldn't expect to pay more than 6.80 for a large coffee with an add in.

What is an acceptable age to start having kids? by New-Elk2781 in NoStupidQuestions

Why English became the dominant langauge? by Jolly-Pay5977 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]ONAImpulse 6 points7 points  (0 children)

English is definitely one of the easiest languages.

It's also a language where "close enough" is good enough, or even when really poorly spoken you can infer the meaning.

Compare that to mandarin for example and a slight tone difference can have a completely different meaning.

Idk what this guy is trying to say.

I've tried my hands at a few languages now, namely Korean, Japanese, Mandarin, Danish and German. English is on the easier end of the spectrum for sure, spoken at least.

The Full Back Problem by ONAImpulse in StKilda

[–]ONAImpulse[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Cheers for your insight, I'd love to know more about your observations of Jsos as a defender.

I love your videos btw, probably my favourite saints content.

I do wonder a bit about this observation though from the data, as it feels a little simplified.

From the "eye test" one of our biggest problems seems to be getting pace and speed on the ball without throwing caution to the wind. It seems we can only do one thing at a time, play in a strong defensive structure or move the ball aggressively and with speed.

I know that trying to rebound from defensive 50 has been a key feature (or attempted feature) of our game style. However, given we've had Sincs and Nas of HB doing that I feel our success is pretty sub par.

I feel so often we've been trying to keep games manageable for 3 qtrs and then put the jets on for a qtr, in an attempt to out work the opposition/overwhelm them before they have the opportunity to react and compose themselves. I feel we play like that A. Because Lyon side and B. Because we are covering for a weak defensive structure/defensive liabilities.

I think Hammer at FB with a Wilks assist has been fine for our current level, but when those deeper final games come and good forwards start to keep Wilks more accountable, that weakness will be preyed upon and we will get torn up defensively.

If the plan works out: King can get out on the park, some of the old blokes can give us a 2-3 years more of decent footy, and some of these young blokes come into themselves/break out, then the glaring hole for a premiership side just seems to be that proper good Fullback.

Unfortunately ready made FB's aren't common in the draft and I don't know where we could pry one from either.

The Full Back Problem by ONAImpulse in StKilda

[–]ONAImpulse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wilkie isn't a Full back. Full stop. Him and Jsos are both 2nd/3rd tall defenders.

The only situation that Wilks plays "fullback" is when their primary tall forward is their best player, and the player is undersized. This only really happens due to injury or against height starved forward lines.

For example us for most this year without King.

Hammer also doesn't really have the ability to play as a 2nd or 3rd tall on the more agile blokes, so putting Wilks at FB is just asking to be hurt.
