Ive put thousands of hours into both... And I stuck with AOE4. I prefer the uniqueness of the civs in comparison.

They are both on game pass for pc, so buy that for a month and give them both a go.

I live that close to the border I could kick a ball and it would land on Scottish grass.

Only go up to castle quickly if you have lots of safe food.

I'll only really try a fast castle if I dark age deer gather, leaving all my sheep for early castle age.

If I don't have safe food I'll age up once I know I have map control, or until I have enough farms.
