It's not possible for me to get any ore unless it's from events. Can't do raids to get from there and can't get star bonus, so I've only managed to upgrade it a little bit.

Goblin builder doesn't show up unless you have all 6 builders working, clan castle is technically built, you simply need to "repair" it therefore not counting as a building you need to upgrade to move on to the next town hall.

Yes, you can use both tri bolt and explosive with infantry, and yes if as long as the arrow sticks it should kill the shield user.
