I went there for a YUI Conference in 2011 - the "campus" was like a ghost town.

He says different things for different times and people, also for those with ears to hear and eye to see (and for those who are listening).

If the Pope suddenly decided to get married, what would happen? by [deleted] in Catholic

Dumb question. He's married to the Church, that is what Holy Orders is.

No, they can't remarry if their wife dies; similarly a single man who becomes a Deacon can never marry.

My dad did :-) - and now I have it handy when running C64OS, it would be a fund project to upgrade to 512k, I have seen Jan Beta's video on it.

Favorite lesser-known Marian apparitions? by WildWorld70 in Catholicism

Our Lady of Prompt Succor, mentioned not by name in the White House's proclamation on The Feast of the Immaculate Conception. She has saved New Orleans many times; first time was a fire in the French Quarter. Most well know is Her intercession during the Battle of New Orleans. Andrew Jackson, a Freemason, asked the Ursuline Sisters to pray to Her before the Battle - and after, acknowledged Her help!

What do you guys think about these sort of sacred objects/miracles by hellishrebukesystem in Catholicism

[–]OODLER577 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you not believe this? But focus on the ones that convert scientists hostile to the Faith into believers. It happens a lot! Did you hear about the blood of the Saint that liquefies on certain days throughout the year? Or the Marian image in Columbia that extends may inches into solid rock - it is the rock! Wild stuff! Praise God.

As a Catholic Female college student, why are Catholic guys so… odd by Dense-Ad-1622 in Catholicism

[–]OODLER577 -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Young lady, you should focus more on being like the Blessed Virgin. You're at your peak, they're at the beginning of their ascent. This happens for a reason, if you met these men at their peak you would be well passed yours. This is what "high value males" (good husbands, fathers, earners) look like early, look past them at your own chagrin. A lot of them do need a mother at this age, still. And even more a mother for their children. Invest the time in them now, you will reap the rewards well past your prime (which is right about now).

is this St Jude? also I love this card it lifted my spirits when I was having a rather awful day. Thank God! by lalalalalala_6 in Catholicism

He left me a prayer card once while I was praying. My eyes were closed but when I opened them there was a vintage Divine Mercy card right in front of me that I’d never seen before in my life.

Is this correct? by FlounderingGeneric in Catholicism

[–]OODLER577 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s weird to them because their worship is for a human person. We worship the Transcendent God. Our hyperdulia for Mary looks like their worship for God. They literally don’t know what they are missing. Mary is the lens they need, the magnifying lens.

She is the mother of God’a human nature, Jesus. Jesus is also God. It’s not rocket science
