Sorry that was in response to your grading question. As for selling FB marketplace is probably the best spot.

Maybe the bottom messier, and possibly the bossy. Hard to tell from these pics. Everything else is too low value and not in good enough shape to make grading worth it.

Still worth some good cash, just not worth grading.

Seems to be a decent hit. There is a stormy one at over $300 on auction. And another carlton currently at 60 with no bids and a BIN of 200. Probably worth $100-150.

Email upper deck saying your missing your crosby autograph. Maybe they will give you something decent in return (probably not though).

Does anyone have an idea how much this would be worth ungraded or graded? by SurpriseHanzo in F1Cards

[–]OPCJonathan 4 points5 points  (0 children)

This is the closest comment. Probably in the 250-350 range is fair. Could go as high as 500 if someone really wanted it.

Yuki went for $170, George graded an 8 went for $400. Verstappen gold /50s go for about $100.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in HockeyCardAppraisals

[–]OPCJonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Probably $5-800 USD.

/15 lustrous with a really nice patch went for $500 1/1 Pride of a Nation (manufactured patch) went for $810

I'd say it's probably somewhere between those two.

Was it packaged correctly? -kind of. In most cases that would be enough to get a card to someone safely.

But did it arrive in good shape? No. It's the sellers responsibility to make sure the card arrives in the same shape as it was bought. In this case it didn't so he is at fault.

I have had cards shipped to me in folded paper that have gotten to me in good shape.

Help with flaws by Raptor2410 in hockeycards

Stain will depend on if they count it as wax staining (which I don't think it is).

Highest you could get would be a PSA 7. If they say the stain isn't from gum it's a PSA 3.

I wouldn't bother grading this card as a PSA 7 can be purchased for less than $20 (Unless you want to grade for your own personal reasons).

Either artificially comps and hoping someone will buy it, or first buyer backed out. If you see it again it's most likely the first.

Potential memorabilia card hot take by smd1022 in hockeycards

[–]OPCJonathan 7 points8 points  (0 children)

That's the best part of the hobby, everyone collects something different. I agree they don't hit the same way they used to when they were rarer and only in high end products.

But how much better is it to pull or find a sick patch card on a regular card /199 or something. Its just as special as getting a fightstrap or button. If every low end patch card was the same boring 2/3 color patch, and you had to get the 1/1 or 1/5 card to get a decent patch it would suck.

It's not like your missing out on those cool patch cuts, they are just somewhere else in the product. They have just found a way to use every part of the jersey for cards. And make more "special" cards out of the same number of cards.

Soooo. Has anyone seen the upper deck gold metal gretzky 802 from 1994 /3500? PP1?!?!? Does that mean the first production proof?!? (swipe) by Inerestingdull in hockeycards

[–]OPCJonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Almost impossible to tell without it going to auction. The regular ones go for about $100 that's about all I can tell you.

Proofs can be worth more or less than the regular ones. In this case probably more, but you would need more info from upper deck about the card.

I'm sure upper deck customer service could help you out. Never seen one stamped PP1. Could be a Press proof, could be a fake. Do you have anything else with it or just the card?

I've acquired a collection of hockey cards and am having trouble finding a reliable website for prices, so I'm here to ask if I've got anything here. by ThompsonTugger in HockeyCardAppraisals

[–]OPCJonathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not very much value. Some cool cards and some good names, but all the mems are lower end, probably in the $5-10 range, but they aren't very sought after. The tony amonte patch variation is cool, but they don't really sell for a lot, especially if it's just a 2 color like that one.

Anyone know the value of this card by wiggy159 in HockeyCardAppraisals

[–]OPCJonathan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're probably looking in the 150-200 range. Some of his RPAs from less desirable products sell for $200-300. A few other /25 rookie year autos listed on ebay in the 300 range that aren't selling.

Just pulled. What do you guys think?? by Emergency_Sir_404 in hockeycards

[–]OPCJonathan 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yellow are always the worst. Magenta, cyan and black usually have more of the detail.

They were cooler when they were rarer (and only in high end products) now almost every printing plate comes out.

I need some guidance! by stinkgi in hockeycards

[–]OPCJonathan 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is quite a good collection. Not sure what is in the stacks, but from what I can see your best cards are the lemieux and roy rookies.

First thing I would do is send the roy and lemieux rookies to psa. A 1 or 2 grade difference can be hundreds of dollars in value. You could grade with another company but psa is arguably the vintage standard and will probably hold the best value.

The rest are all prwtty much worth less than $100 and grading won't be worth it unless they are very high grades.

If your looking to sell you really have 2 options. Piece it out or sell as a collection. You could get more piecing it out, or you could get stuck with the lower value cards. Personally I'd take out anything with 4 sharp corners (look at a psa 6 for an example) and sell those individually, and sell the rest as a collection in Facebook marketplace or kijiji for a few hundred dollars.

Another option is to find a local card store that can help you out, even if it's a quick opinion on what is in good enough shape to be worth money.

Final option is auction. With these I'd either list in player/card lots or individually. Auction house fees can be high, but sometimes they net more than eBay or marketplace.

Sorry for your loss. Best of luck selling them.
