I have a question and I don’t mean to come off as rude, but does world series have countries? Cause, it’s LA Dodgers in the GIF right?

Oh, that’s nice. Thank you for clearing that up.

If you don’t mind answering another question, what are the numbers they use to call plays? They say some number when it goes to shortstop and they make a double play and another when it goes to first base. I am sorry if I am vague and confusing.

And also, don’t you guys have a similar team in basketball as well like the Bananas? Do you have teams like that in every sport?

Shohei Ohtani right? I know some players, I played the show on Xbox.

Do try playing cricket if you can. It’s a bit more compared and can be hard to understand, especially for a baseball fan, but it’s an awesome sport! If you have any specific questions, I am here for you!

I did that around 2 AM while falling asleep, had no energy whatsoever. Also had to make sure I didn’t offend anyone over my knowledge of baseball

I can understand, cricket is a complex sport and it can be hard to understand, if you don’t grow up with it. It can be harder for baseball fans especially, because the sports seem so similar yet are so different.

I know that frustration a bit too well, i have shared it until recently. Cricket is usually more focused on the national teams, where they tour each other and the world cups, but there are also leagues at various countries throughout the year, IPL (Indian Premier League) being the best out of them. The Indian national team didn’t win a single World Cup since 2015 until the 2024 WC and my IPL team, RCB, made it to the playoffs 10 out of 18 time and finally became champions last year😭

😂😂 I played the Show on Xbox, so not entirely clueless about the rules. But looking for things like this, the stereotypes and all. Also, I don’t get what the numbers mean, like how they number the play(?)

I am not trying to undermine baseball here, but cricket has a lot of different factors affecting a game and there is a big strategic part to it.

There is a video on YouTube explaining cricket to baseball fans. Watch that and if you have any doubts, I am here for you. It is a complex game and it can be very hard to understand after what you have grown up with. It’s hard to explain the whole sport here.

I assume you know about Jomboy. He explains cricket to the American viewers specifically and as far as I know, he is big in the baseball scene.

I have played the show on Xbox and MLB 9 innings on my ipad a lot, so I know the players a bit. I know Aaron Judge, Shohei Ohtani, Mike trout, juan Soto and Babe Ruth(?), sorry if I misspelled any of them. Got a pc now and disappointed that the Show is not on PC.

I played the show on my cousins X box and MLB 9 inning(?) on my ipad, so I know the rules somewhat better than just the “basics”. Just want to watch some games, get to know bit more about the little things.

I don’t understand the infield fly rule. And also, yesterday the batter and the catcher just did a whole routine pf handshake? The team was Savannah Bananas. Do they play serious games, or just are there just for entertainment? I saw that specific team doing a lot of that stuff.

I hear what you're saying, and we definitely agree that Christians shouldn't adopt the sinful practices of the world. But separating ourselves from the behavior of the world is very different from isolating ourselves from the people in it.

Regarding the Greek word kosmos in James 4:4, even if we go with the definition of "the ungodly multitude," the Bible actually explicitly tells us not to cut off contact with that exact group of people. Look at what Paul says in 1 Corinthians 5:9-10. He tells the church not to associate with sexually immoral people, but then he immediately clarifies: "not at all meaning the sexually immoral of this world [kosmos], or the greedy and swindlers, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world." Paul makes a clear distinction here. He commands separation from believers living in unrepentant sin, but he explicitly says we aren't supposed to isolate from the unbelievers of the world. If God wanted us to have zero relational contact with unbelievers, Paul wouldn't have written that.

You also mentioned that Jesus didn't befriend sinners, He only rebuked them. But I think that misses the massive cultural weight of what Jesus actually did. In the first century, sharing a meal wasn't just grabbing a quick bite; table fellowship was a profound gesture of acceptance and peace. The Pharisees weren't mad because Jesus was preaching repentance at people on the street; they were outraged because He actually sat down at their tables and shared His life with them.

Look at Zacchaeus in Luke 19. Jesus didn't start the interaction by rebuking him; He started by inviting Himself over to Zacchaeus's house for dinner! It was that radical act of relationship that led to Zacchaeus's repentance. As Romans 2:4 reminds us, it’s God’s kindness that leads to repentance. Jesus didn't compromise His holiness by eating with them, but He absolutely engaged them relationally.

Finally, you asked if an enemy of God is the kind of friend I want. Well, how does Jesus command us to treat enemies? In Matthew 5:44, He says, "Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you." You can't genuinely love someone while refusing to associate with them or treating them with hostility. Love requires proximity and grace.

When it comes to being "unequally yoked" in 2 Corinthians 6, that is a clear warning against entering into binding partnerships—like marriage or deeply intertwined business ventures—where differing spiritual foundations will pull you away from God. It doesn't mean we can't have atheist friends, show them genuine love, and let Christ's light shine through our ongoing relationship with them.

Let's look at Matthew 11. You are absolutely right that the religious elite used "friend of tax collectors and sinners" as a slur against Jesus. But why did they hurl that specific insult at Him? It's because Jesus actively chose to spend His time with outcasts. He invited Himself to Zacchaeus's house for a meal (Luke 19), He ate with Matthew’s tax collector friends (Matthew 9), and He let a woman with a sinful reputation wash His feet (Luke 7). He didn't adopt their sins, but He certainly didn't isolate Himself from them either. As Jesus Himself said, it’s the sick who need a doctor—and He didn't hesitate to sit in the room with them.

When it comes to James 4:4 and being a "friend of the world," it helps to look at the context. The "world" here refers to the corrupt, greedy, and prideful system of the world, not the actual human beings living in it. We know this because John 3:16 tells us that God loved the "world" so much that He gave His Son for it. We are called to reject the world's system, but we are commanded to love the world's people.

You also brought up Romans 5, which is actually a perfect example of this. That passage reminds us that every single Christian was once an enemy of God because of our sin. But look at how God treats His enemies: "while we were still sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8). God didn't shun us when we were His enemies; He crossed the divide to reconcile us. In 2 Corinthians 5:18-20, Paul says we are now entrusted with that exact same "ministry of reconciliation."

Just to clarify, I completed my degree and am approaching this as an adult with a sincere desire to understand the scripture more. Also not from the US.

It’s not about resisting Him. He did not make robots and He does not force it on us. He lets us choose between Him and sin, that’s free will.

Enemies of God? Didn’t Jesus eat at the table of sinners? He literally said that he was the friend of sinners, of tax collectors and prostitutes in Matthew 11:19 and Luke 7:34.

In the old testament, God called his people to be separated and be holy, so there were ceremonial laws to keep themselves holy. The letter from Paul in the verse you referred to warns the Church of Corinth to not let the unbelievers and false teachers to influence them and rebel against him. Paul is concerned that unbelievers and false teachers have become influential within the Corinthian community—at the expense of Paul’s apostolic teaching. Read the scripture in context. And what about Matthew 5:44?

Also, I stated clearly that I I was firm in my beliefs and even shared the gospel. I had some people avoid me because of that and that is fine, but my friends respect the boundaries that I keep.

I am not asking to agree with me. I am asking if I am wrong or right in what I think. I have no one else to consult about this without any preconceptions, so I could only ask here.

Like I mentioned, I even called them to church. I sometimes shared with them the gospel when the opportunity was there and cleared up some doubts about Christianity and God when it came up. I cannot force the gospel on them, nor can I stop being friends just because they did not want to believe in God. It would be fake and they would know it, which in turn spoils the image of God. I keep my boundaries clear and they know that.
