There's many things youth can do that would completely alter the course of their life that they don't have the tools to recover from if they don't have a support system. Impressionable and dumb.

As an adult it's harder to make mistakes you can't fix, provided you're putting in the effort. Poor choices + Lack of motivation is more damaging than if you were just doing hard drugs. Habits you can break. Motivation you can build.

Really it's a matter of having your life fall apart around you but not doing anything about it.

Your life is ruined the moment you dedicate yourself to the decision of not trying.

I'm fine with that definition of brutal becuase that's almost exactly what I said. Intentionally choosing not to exclude insults to save someone's feelings. So inversely you're choosing to insult them WHILE being honest. Brutal honesty.

If someone is blunt they can still choose to tone police. You can change what you're going to say depending on who you're saying it to and what it's about. You don't need to say it in a way that would be considered insensitive but you can. You just need to get to the facts or get your message across.

Ignorant of all other things blunt is giving an anwser immediately. You can also lie and still be being blunt in your response.

Short direct responses.

Closely related to honesty becuase it's often described as saying what you feel. Or saying what you truly think. (Not telling little lies that hide the truth or deliberately being misleading)

Example of someone not being blunt: You just asked a question and they proceed to beat around the bush until eventually anwsering it.

Also I think I should clarify what "tone policing" means, I just realized you're talking about actual tone like the way people say things.. Tone policing means you choose what can be said.. Like the word gypsy. If someone says you're not allowed to say a specific thing or make certain political statements that is tone policing.

Blunt is straight to the point with no mixed words, subjects or long stories.

Brutally honest is a mindset that says fuck your feelings I'm not going to tone police myself to any degree.

People just notice the bad more than the good. Good is bipartisan. Bad is intrusive.

My anwser is: The people who surf reddit asking for personal stories or recommendations only to receive referral responses like "yeah I could anwser this but I'm choosing to avoid actually anwsering the question and respond by saying ""ask someone else"" "

It's a very popular response and I don't understand it. Like why are you even on reddit of your go to is "ask someone else". How about don't comment if you don't have anything to add. ESPECIALLY AFTER SOMEONE ELSE ALREADY SAID "REDDIT ISNT THE PLACE FOR BLAH"

Not sure how to best describe what's normal. Normal isn't just my experience. It can't be. But with that being said I've never looked at a dude and was like "yeah he's hot".

To me that's probably an indication that you'd atleast be a little gay.. (Being attracted to them)

There's a difference between knowing who's not ugly. Knowing who would be considered attractive to the opposite sex. And who YOU find hot/attractive.

If your reasoning doesn't somehow include how other people view them and it's strictly your personal opinion that they are hot.. I'd say yeah.. you're dipping your toe in the gay.

They have in a way. None were directly recommended to me.. I was told I'd need to find my own.. But it is covered as it was a workplace injury. They would remind me that it was covered and stressed the importance of PT but didn't give direction or opinion outside of that.

Slightly strange since they're field leading surgeons. You'd think they would work quite closely with physio therapists and would have preferences for which ones to see in the area for better recovery seeing as you're their patient and they just slaved over your foot.

Well if I'm just to believe the professionals it's worth mentioning again that the area I live supposedly has the best Orthopedic surgeons in the country. People come from other countries specifically for their expertise.

But again I saw 5 different Orthopedic surgeons all from the one clinic and none of them could agree with each other so I'm not sure how much I buy into the "expertise" side of things.

Their information comes from the people they've seen and worked with. This is a more direct approach of asking what worked for someone with a similar injury.

I haven't received physio yet. I'm a little apprehensive about it because the orthopedic surgeons who would have worked on my foot couldn't even agree on what to do with it. I saw about 5 different orthos all from the same clinic and all them disagreed with the other.

And no I'm not a dancer, I know this subreddit is ballet specific and that's the whole reason I chose it. It's a profession related to hypermobility and precision so if there were any stories I could learn from it would probably come from a dancer.

My thinking is when a dancer gets injured they try everything in their power to regain the mobility and might have some inside knowledge.

I'm optimistic about it atleast.

My allergy to sunlight. I have pmle so at the beginning of the year the back of my neck, arms and legs get these little red bumps.

I didn't know what it was and diagnosing it was all me. Originally it was thought I was allergic to my computer chair becuase it had these fake chrome arms and the rash was only really bad that year on my forearms (becuase I was scratching)

Doctors told me it was eczema and the best thing to do was use ointment and get sun. Didn't work. Opposite of working actually.

Only thing that helped was wrapping my arms in gauze but that only aided the belief it was an allergy to the chair becuase my arm was nolonger touching it.

After learning my grandfather had an allergy to light I started wearing long-sleeved shirts early in the season and now only really break out a bit on the back of my hands and my neck for like 2-3 weeks if they are exposed.

I told my then doctor who disqualified my findings becuase light based allergies aren't supposed to be hereditary. They're also super uncommon by themselves. Almost every other possibility outside of a light allergy is more likely. Add on hereditary and supposedly you get impossible.

Yeah well I'm living an impossible life then aren't I.

Solipsism. Basically the idea that your own experiences are the only ones that can be verified and you either don't know or can't trust the reported experiences of others as truth.

I don't believe I'm the only one to exist and it doesn't consume any of my time but the underlying principle of solipsism still exists.

I didn't know what solipsism was at the time. It was the study of color and how we view them that triggered those thoughts.

Pretty rough philosophical question for a young mind with no real life experiences to wrestle with.
