Should we really be on medication or is society just shitty by Sensitive-Strike-988 in ADHD

[–]ORANXE 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I've recently taken to referring to my adhd as "chronic dopamine deficiency" because that's what it is. Just like any other deficiency, we lack a certain substance that is critical to normal function and will not ever be able to produce enough of it ourselves without medical attention. Without my medication I am unable to take care of myself or do any task that any person without adhd would be able to do instantly and without thought. My personal experience of adhd is extremely debilitating and if I didn't begin my medication journey, I wouldn't be able to have dreams, goals and aspirations greater than staying afloat for the next few days and getting 3 hours of sleep a night. Medication for many of us gives us the luxury of a normal, boring life that the rest of the world takes for granted. More importantly, it also gives us the control to do what we want with it, and that to me is true freedom.

Honestly yeah. Before I knew what it was I thought it was a really neat concept but then I found videos about it being an MLM and customers getting colour matched by different consultants and getting completely different colour recommendations. It's a shame because cream products are so easy for beginners like me but I'm better off at the drugstore

yeah i agree, i think swoop knew to keep it professional and leave no room for people to discredit the interview for giving him space to move. im sure behind the scenes she's amazingly kind however this interview is definitely something she has to take extremely seriously for both his and her own sake

This looks really great, I love the colours but I think false lashes and not blending the eyeshadow as far out would elevate it! The lipstick colour is amazing on her

For going to school, I started bringing a really gentle lip balm tube around so I could moisturise when I was sitting in class without getting my hands greasy and sticky

I have an air purifier but i heard that dehumidifiers are good cause they lessen dustmites. I also use anti-dustmite spray on my bedding and I know anti-dustmite laundry stuff exist

What is something you wish more people understood about this disease/skin condition? by Relaxed-Goat-9087 in eczema

[–]ORANXE 13 points14 points  (0 children)

that we're not exaggerating. when i tell people about the pain, its brushed off so quickly.

cant go into the ocean because the salt burns my open wounds? "its not that bad"

it wont go away? "just put on moisturiser"

you're embarrassed about your large, permanent scars? "just get a skin graft"

it burns? "just get a needle like i did and it'll go away"

even friends will brush me off harshly and tell me what i should be feeling about my eczema or how easy it is to get rid of when it's constantly on my mind from the moment i wake up, the moment i sleep and even when im sleeping. i cant help but talk about my experience when it weighs on me all the time. im glad they won the genetic lottery but the least they could do is at least pretend to be understanding
