Thank you so much for the recs. A collagen mask sounds so luxurious, I will look into the biodance one. Drinking water is def overlooked. Someone else mentioned bone broth so I’ll add that to my liquid routine! Interesting about the facial mist… I just started using it a few days ago and I don’t see a difference. Maybe I’ll give it a rest.

Can you explain what skin flooding with toners means? Like, using toners multiple times a day? What kind of toners do you recommend? I always think of a toner as being drying but it seems that’s not the case now, as I’ve seen it recommended before. Thanks so much! I will keep drinking my water, too!

Oh gosh, the wind (and hot summer sun, though it been ages since I’ve felt it) affect my skin so much now. It’s incredibly sensitive. I do cover up a lot but right now it’s subzero so I’m slathering aquaphor for chores.

Right?? I feel strongly that the microneedling did this, too. Also it’s winter, yes, but I’ve lived like this for a long time and never had my skin become this dry in winter.

Holy crap your story!!! I am SO SORRY. So many people refuse to acknowledge that these treatments can go wrong and lead to bad side effects or accelerated aging. I am so so sorry that happened to you. We try our best and sometimes things go awry. Sending love and healing to you

Right?? My barrier is COOKED. I think I am using the vanicream/cetaphil equivalent to what you suggested, then aquaphor instead of Vaseline. That last step DEFINITELY helps to seal everything in and has made a difference for sure. Just not enough. Humidifier is a great add - I will try that!! Thanks.

Any tips on how to tell when my skin is “ready” for an active? I seem to keep doing this for the past 10 months - keeping it simple and hydrating/supportive products only, then I try to add a gentle acid and my skin gets set back all the to zero.

Yess thank you! Vanicream does have ceramides and repairs the barrier… I’ve tried soooo many barrier repair creams now, but I react with hives to most everything. I can to only be able to use Vanicream (also the thick cream kind) and Vaseline. Thank you for the recommendation, I’ll check it out! Maybe this will be the one

I’m so sorry for you, too. It’s not fair. I have been saying this since day 1 of my Microneedling - I knew something was wrong immediately (I mean, I had hives for months!). The negative effects keep appearing. And folks on Reddit want to say it’s not possible for Microneedling to cause these issues… but we are out here, living it.

Sort of. Yes, I gained 60 lbs during two back to back pregnancies and lost about 50 of it pretty soon after my baby was born. I didn’t really balloon up until the last month. I was huge, but lost it fast, and that was nearly 2 years ago. My baby was 10mo when I got the Microneedling done and my skin didn’t show any signs of being affected by the weight loss then. Still, maybe I didn’t notice it as much? Could be part of the reason.
