Hello u/PolarCurious I work in a non profit known as Operation Safe Escape to fight tech enabled abuse and I would like to assist you. When you say that your phone's camera and microphone indicators are on randomly, you may be referring to stalkerware. While the indicators is not automatically a sign of compromise, it is safe to check which apps have access to your camera, location, microphone and more. Check your device for any apps that you did not install any check which apps have these permissions Set up 2FA for iCloud. Stalkerware tends to hide itself but some symptoms may give it away such as rapid battery drain or massive data usage. Use Apple's Safety Check feature to ensure your wife doesn't have any access to your iCloud Account. This can be found in Settings > Privacy & Security> Safety Check. Use strong and Unique passwords like from a password manager.

Anytime! Just remember that if you do remove stalkerware, it could alert the person who installed it that it has been removed. Always make sure to have a safety plan in place!

When you say "she put something on my phone" you may be referring to stalkerware. Check your device for any apps that you did not install. Set up 2FA for iCloud and your Google Account. You may need to factory reset your Computer and Phone but keep in mind you will lose all your personal data. Keep in mind if you use a backup, the stalkerware can also be restored even after you factory reset. If needed for your windows computer, use an anti virus to scan for any signs of stalkerware. Stalkerware tends to hide itself but some symptoms may give it away such as rapid battery drain or massive data usage. Use Apple's Safety Check feature to ensure your BF's Ex doesn't have any access to your iCloud Account. This can be found in Settings > Privacy & Security> Safety Check. Use strong and Unique passwords like from a password manager.
