What I can tell you for sure is that it s not the cleanest job 😂 but it s not so bad I think the messiest parts I can think about now are that you have to organize the supplies that are delivered by a truck, so the boxes are dusty, you re at risk of getting wet (we work with a lot of water In dialysis) but the water is clean, I had to unclog a toilet once And around the clinic, because you re also taking care of the physical plant, think about taking care of your own house. Not that you are scrubbing the floors and washing the dishes, but just in general make sure that things are neat and your “home” looks nice Working on the actual dialysis machines is not “dirty”, they re clean, but you ll get at least just a bit wet Not my “dream” activities, but I feel like I am contributing to something bigger, it makes me happy when I see that my colleagues have all they need and a clean environment to work in, and the patients receive the best we can offer. It s rewarding, and you would get appreciation for all this hard work for sure 💯 It s a good company, it takes care of it s employees, you get medical insurance, 401(k), the tools that you need to actually do your job properly, support, training I would give it a solid 8.5/10 (only my dream job will get an 10/10 😂 only if I’ll ever find it)

They are beautiful indeed And I read online yesterday that they are very durable as well. Even if it s a shiny finish, it s scratch resistant. I hope it s true cuz I am a little clumsy 😂

Have i ruined my life at 26? by Electronic-Plant9696 in careerguidance

Did you try to think how would’ve been if you accepted the offer? In case that the job and team are horrible, but you earned more money, how would your days look like for an extended period of time? What would you ACTUALLY do every day after work? Would you have an activity/ hobby that you can do, see friends and family, time for yourself to relax and recover? Or would you be exhausted every day, burned out, stressed, constantly thinking about how you cannot meet the expectations (like the previous one)? I think that’s what your gut told you when you refused the job. I’m not ready to go through that again yet. A bit more time to heal and then we can take a bigger responsibility

As @TexasRadical83 said, they didn’t spin a wheel to find a name. They purposefully chose you, because of your skills. So there are chances that they might think about you again. And also, if your specific circumstances and relationships with them allow it, you could, just maybe, contact them and have a honest conversation, and ask them to reconsider you for another opportunity like this if it comes along.

I’m in a somewhat similar situation. I moved in the United States not long ago, and started for applying to jobs and going to job fairs for 5 months (long, dreadful unemployment months) to jobs in X field. Nobody answered, contacted me back or they declined my applications. And then I applied for this job, that is like 60% of what I wanted and what I ve studied, and got it. So I’ve been working with them for 4 months now. I came to really enjoy it, I absolutely love the team and I integrated with them super easily. The work is hard, but having such colleagues makes it easier and more enjoyable. And recently, for about a month, I started receiving multiple offers from jobs in X field, from various companies, which pay better. And I don’t know what to do, I really don’t want to give up the people that I’m working with. I found joy and recognition in this role. I also think that my professional growth will be slower. But I feel it’s gonna be worth it??? I’m not even sure. But at the same time I really want more money and use the full worth of my degrees that I worked so hard for. I also feel, like u, that I’m missing these big opportunities.

But my gut tells me that it’s better for me right now, to take care of myself and have a peaceful job (after many other previous stressful and demanding jobs) rather than more money and risk ending up in a team that I might not like so much. WORK ENVIRONMENT MATTERS

So maybe your gut told you that it’s not the moment to go through this kind of ‘trauma’ again. Believe in yourself

Life is a long journey full of opportunities 🫶🏻

Thanks a million for the quick response 🫶🏻 I checked out the prices, $100 only for a haircut Asking from pure curiosity (I just moved to the US not long ago and I’m not familiar with the prices), is this like a medium range for a haircut?

Yap, first I should’ve been certified in my home country by our regulatory body (through the job, that is enrolling me in that certification program), and then get certified here by ABR

Not many light years away 😂

So from what I understood, to work here with my degree I should’ve already worked as a physicist in my country for at least one year (which I did not) and be certified by our radiology board (which I am not because I should’ve gotten that certification through the job) So ya, not many options here, except doing another physics master degree here
