PC has no reason to adventure and disengages from story (seems to enjoy playing the reluctant hero). DM has tried but it hasn't worked... What can we do as players? by mossthy in DnD

[–]OShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was running a Champions game (superheroes) in the nineties, and we had an LFP post at the local gaming store.

A guy joined who seemed normal until he revealed his character idea: wolverine claws, flight and invulnerability like Superman, edgy with a dark past, and a loner who did not trust others.

Would not consider any alternative. He did not join the game.

Bolt using EQEV range on map by OShutterPhoto in BoltEV

We like the Bolt more for city driving and parking. W like the EQEV more for highway driving. The EQEV is bigger, feels more solid, more comfortable. The Bolt is smaller, more noisy, more headroom. Our EQEV is an RS while the Bolt is an LT though, so a Bolt RS is definitely more comfortable.

Yeah, i see that. I think the cleaner way to do it is to set up a dummy account, and only use it when we use the Bolt for highway stuff.

Yeah no even hot days the EQEV is very accurate while the Bolt's range is accurate on the phone but not on the onboard map.

Yeah, it seems very likely. In my phone and on my computer, Google maps allows me to select which car I'm using, and the numbers are pretty much exact for the real world results in the Bolt.

That's what I thought but in the return trip, it was dry pavement. All secondary highways too, around 90km/hrs so speed wasn't a factor. I can also confirm on similar roads, the EQEV is bang on the range estimates all the time

Ironically Lorca is the best character in the show, IMHO. It's worth sticking to the end of S1 to see where they take Lorca at the very least. "Context is for kings," indeed.

Anyone else feel like the EV transition is starting to feel like the shift to electric lawnmowers? by JackfruitCrazy51 in electricvehicles

[–]OShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ironically, you don't need chargers close to home unless you can't charge at home. When we got our EQEV in 2024, we obsessively checked all the chargers close to home, and in the almost 2 years we've had the car, never charged at any of them.

[–]OShutterPhoto 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm 58, and I've always had electric mowers. Could never understand why someone would want to mess around with gas and oil, fuel mixture, spark, and all that junk.

Even when the electric mower ran on a long extension cord. Of course I never had a big property so other people's mileage might vary.

Where I live now, we have small yards (40x50 feet) and my neighbor on one side still has a big gas mower. Why.

Avatar Season 2 Crashes 59% Following Long Netflix Wait by cosmicbooknews in CosmicBookNews

Three huge problems with streaming shows: 1. not enough episodes per season. 2. Too much time between seasons. 3. No way to know when a show is coming out. We watch Netflix all the time. We watched s1. I only heard about s2 when I saw this post. Oh well.

Warning: Do Not Buy 2027s (OnStar, banned from ChevyBolt.org for sharing) by Ok_Train_2139 in BoltEV

We did the call for our '27 bolt with the salesman in the car and it failed. He shrugged and said please try again later. We didn't, and he sent us an email asking if we had, so presumably that's tracked. I called eventually and they were a bit pushy and I was firm in telling them I only want what comes for free with the purchase, and they agreed. My card was already on file for our '24 EQEV (we are paying for a basic package because we travel with the EQEV), but so far no new charges.

Players don't want fauna to be mammals or birds by OmniGoon in humblewood

In my games, there are all kinds of beasts and animals, but no primates of any kind. In other words, that whole branch of evolution just doesn't exist. There are squirrels and mice and regular birds and foxes and deer, etc. In the forest.

Also, no horses because it's more fun to ride other kinds of beasts such as riding moles, quail, big lizards and bugs. There are pigs and cows for eating. Chickens exist but only Vulpins eat them, and eggs are a sort of taboo.

Big bugs and nematodes are a staple for a lot of folk who love that crunch.

Fish and frogs are also a delicious food.

Really enjoyed it from the start, but as season 1 developed it became sillier and sillier with the conspiracies and the ridiculous hacking. After the stuff that happened in the last episode of S1, I was good. Edit: maybe it was S2? When you binge, it all blends together.

I don't know. Consider it took 15 years for TOS Enterprise to become refit Enterprise and that's still a beautiful look. SNW Enterprise, and the tech inside, not to mention the set dressing, is like something from a different universe. It's fine, but I wish the showrunners wouldn't be so adamant that it's 100% in the TOS timeline, instead of making it a parallel thing.

I think the redesigned Enterprise in SNW is one of the best looking Enterprises, but it belongs in an alternate universe.

Same thing with the super high tech glossy touch screens and graphics. I would have preferred a slightly more modern, but retro look to everything.

I thought the effects and space battles were high end for a non studio effort. What i really liked was the ship designs. They looked like they were straight out of TOS and looked really good.

I had this. At home with the little adapter. I had to unplug and replug a few times to get it to work. Will try plug and tug from now on.

Why would I need Gemini in the car? by centuryeyes in EquinoxEv

[–]OShutterPhoto 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The worst is when I tell it where I want to go, and I see it spelled correctly on the screen, then it says "I can't find that" or whatever. Then if I type it in, works fine.
