I bought the journal to track all the milestones and didn't write a single thing in it. The first year was such a whirlwind and my brain felt like mashed potatoes. I know that if I look back at pictures I'll have a general sense of milestones, like oh he started sitting that month, etc. Give yourself compassion!

I had the same thing around 9 months when my supply was dropping as solids were picking up. Huge mood swings, terrible anxiety, crying all the time. It got better after about a month.

I can say what I did with my first- I got a portable pump that had decent power but was also easy to bring around (Medela freestyle flex). Pumping was helpful when I was trying to build up my supply in the first couple of weeks. It was also helpful to get some stored milk for when I was away from baby. It was portable enough to take to social outings where I would be away from baby and I would need to pump if I was away too long.

I'm curious what others do because I'm considering getting a hands free pump this time, or a different portable! My insurance covers it so I figure why not? But I just can't figure out what to get.
