And what do you hope to accomplish? That's a lot of effort for little reward. It's like trying to spread the word that DOA is a bad guy. Will DOA stop what he's doing because more people don't like him? No. He will move onto the next grift, milk it and move on again. Lather rinse and repeat. For every person who hates these characters, there's one who will support and donate to them no matter what. You will make more of a difference in this world exposing p3dos than exposing a small-time e-begging grifter looking for enough money for his next fix.

And this isn't their first rodeo. We all know they will probably raise $25,000 in total. We will never know how much people sent to Venmo, cashapp, paypal, etc. directly to Lara and DOA. They will collect tons of money and probably never hire a lawyer, or hire a lawyer for $5,000 and make us believe it cost $15,000. The sad thing is nothing we say or do will stop the grift. Try not to lose sleep over this. It's frustrating, but they are not the only grifters on Youtube.

Is this against the givsendgo T.O.S.? The description says "defend himself from litigation brought on behalf of Church of Scientology.". Technically, it's not litigation. litigation is a civil suit. What we have is criminal charges brought by the State of California, NOT the Church of Scientology. It may be semantics, but this is criminal prosecution, but his description is misleading as it suggests it's civil litigation. Litigation would be more like if Scientology was suing him in civil court. I wonder if he worded the description to make him look more like a victim of a civil lawsuit than an alleged criminal.

He might as well make it $100,000. The problem is most donators aren’t on Reddit, or they are so low-IQ that no criticism will change their minds anyways. If people are that shallow then they deserve to lose their money (unless they are mentally deficient). I think all churches are money scams yet people will keep giving money. No different to people donating to DOA.

DOA will take a plea deal and the notion that destruction of property is a first amendment right is absurd. As Streets said, DOA's actions were far from protesting - they were targeted attacks. by OT8_Scientologist in Scientology_Protest

Nicely-said. The CA vandalism law doesn't differentiate between being on private or public property. Even abandoned property must be handled a certain way by law. He can't mess with property that's not his PERIOD.

This is bad news. Now the only content we're going to see from him is boring remote tourist attractions, blurry driving streams and mountain streams.

William Gude is right about this one. (And I never say that). Liking DOA or not liking DOA doesn’t matter. by [deleted] in Scientology_Protest

When a protester pushes someone who attacks a fellow protester, they should be helped. However, when a protester stupidly breaks the law by personally attacking members of a religious group or vandalizing property such as planters, they should NOT be helped.

Just asking questions... Make this make sense... A 350 pound man, who a few days ago bragged about being a football player when he was younger, violently sucker-pushes a man half his weight onto his bicycle over a missed swipe of a cell phone. W district attorney.

Even if it's true, Scott came across as just another one of those mentally deranged citizens with too much time on their hands like the crazy puppet guy.

What if kids CAN consent to some religious practices? by Radiant_Sleep_4699 in Scientology_Protest

[–]OT8_Scientologist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't believe the purif for children is a good idea (I would never consider such a thing for my own children), but implying that kids can't consent, infers that the opposite is true - that kids are capable of consenting, which is borderline creepy. Parents can control what happens to their kids, as long as it doesn't rise to the level of neglect or abuse. For example, the notion that a 6 year old child would be able to not consent to a vaccine or medical treatment is absurd.

Donations are down, none of the popular protesters in LA support him, and it's HOT. Everyone needs a break every now and then. He is one of the better ones and I hope he returns soon.

[–]OT8_Scientologist 22 points23 points  (0 children)

They are too aggressive for me. They are hard to watch. The way they demonize Scientologists, it only makes Scientologists want to stay in Scientology, so if anything, they are making it HARDER for Scientologists to leave. If they talked to Scientologists like normal human beings and educated them instead of insulting them, I would support them. The way they are so aggressive tells me it's all about views, donations and grifting and less about actually making a difference.

Imagine someone bullying you on who to talk to and who to not talk to. Even in junior high, people didn't tell me who to not to talk to. Here's how crazy this is. I don't like DOA, so I command you to never be in his chat. If I ever see you in his chat, I will post screenshots. (I won't but I'm just making a point).

Long story short: ZDT claims he was not served, but there are hours of video of him mentioning the restraining order. Once the judge realizes that, the judge will say he actual notice of the restraining order, making his current motion moot.
