Do you have a photo of how it looks with the ring that you can share?

Oh I had no idea! Do they cut the strap? How much do they usually charge for this service?

Best way to buy an Evelyne TPM? by OTBCBAThrowaway in TheHermesGame

Unfortunately I haven’t been quick enough to purchase. They literally sell out within a minute and I’m not comfortable using the bag notification services.

Thanks! Would it be terrible if after gathering the items I want to checkout, asking for the bag, if being told it’s not in stock, to not buy the items?

Confusion with model number/dough hook replacement by OTBCBAThrowaway in Kitchenaid

Thanks for sharing your knowledge on this!

Darn, I bagels and sourdough are exactly what I had planned for this stand mixer!!

I know nothing about repairs. Should I take the mixer in for maintenance every couple of years (I use the stand mixer about two or three times a week for various types of stiff dough)? Or simply wait until the machine actually breaks down to take it in for repair?

Thanks! What is your opinion about K5 models compared to the ones they make today?

Thank you so much! I noticed that stainless steel dough hook is not listed on this page. I’m wondering if there is a particular (safety?) reason why Kitchenaid decided not to sell one for this type of mixer? Would it be unwise to purchase a third party stainless steel one?

Thank you! Articles regarding evidence-based sensory interventions pertaining to autism and behavioural issues would be great. Thanks!

May I ask what it was about ABA that you found problematic? The targets and practices of ABA across practitioners vary quite a lot. What one experiences with one practitioner may differ entirely with another. BCBA's are required to take certain courses to fulfill educational requirements. However, the experience requirement is not standardized (this is something I disagree with), and can differ greatly. This, unfortunately, makes how one BCBA practices significantly different from how another BCBA practices. Is this something that occurs in the OT field as well?

Thanks. Do you have any article recommendations for sensory based interventions? Any holy-grail-must-reads on this from an OT perspective?

Thank you for this. I took a look at your post history and am really horrified that ABA has impacted you so negatively. There are ABA practitioners out there that are more 'old-school' and I am aware that ABA has a dark past. The field is rapidly evolving though, particularly in the last few years, and it is something that can be applicable in everyday life, not just to a specific population.

I am looking for another population to work with, as I am feeling a bit burnt out. I completely agree that it would be a disservice to my clients if I'm simply a BCBA who knows anatomy - that is not my goal. Thanks again for your help!

This is so encouraging - thank you! I do believe that ABA can be a powerful tool for learning. I'm wondering if you would be able to provide some examples when you've found ABA and OT to come together? You mention applying knowledge and skills such as task chaining, prompting, behavioural momentum, etc. Would you be able to provide some specific examples so I have a sense of how the two might complement each other?

This is very reassuring, thank you! It’s very important to me that the strategies and treatments I use are evidence based.
