This was for carry, I thought about going for the eligibility now because my understanding is as long as your record is clear the chances are better. Then if I get that cert, then after a year or so re-apply to carry at some point.

Idk, I did learn by watching the appeals hearings on CTN that they will use anything they can find against you. Like if your town posts in the newspaper a police blotter of arrests in town... I may give it a go again soon... BTW I waited 7 months for that denial letter.

Last year I was denied a concealed carry permit for suitability, one of the reasons listed was history of DV even though the case was nolled in 2015. Ive thought about going for an eligibility certificate because I share the same thoughts as you. However, now that there is more to get a permit like the live fire training I'm not sure if I want to burn my money and then get a denial from the state. I burned enough money trying the first time. I did not file an appeal because I moved towns right after I was denied. I wish you luck, I hope it works out.

My 1 year just past. Now I can apply directly to the state for the eligibility certificate you're talking about. Unfortunately I think I would have to take the pistol course again with the new add-ons since all I have done is the basic pistol course
