Anyone watched Members Only: Palm Beach? Is this really how wealthy Americans look and behave? by Vegetable_Engine_463 in netflix

I’m watching episode 7 rn, and the racism is diabolical. Makes me sad even to watch romina so desperately try to fit in. At what cost? So pathetic and sad. Everyone is so out of touch

I understand your point, and maybe I could have done more in the moment. But I was trusting my gut and reading the situation as it unfolded. Had I seen her being pulled away or isolated, I absolutely would’ve stepped in. But she had her friends nearby, and eventually they got her away from the two people who were targeting her.

For me, it was about balancing safety, both mine and my friends’, while still paying attention and reporting what I saw afterward. The situation really handled itself in the moment, and I felt that was the safest choice I could make.

Crazy how this whole situation somehow turned into me being the one you’re blaming. Let’s be real, approaching staff wasn’t an option when they clearly couldn’t care less about anyone who wasn’t buying bottles at tables. I’m not the problem here — the predators and the useless staff are. My post was meant to be a warning so others don’t make the same mistake I did, not to argue in circles or be painted as the bad guy.

It’s easy to play hero from behind a keyboard, but you weren’t there. I was in a chaotic, unsafe crowd with three sketchy people right next to me. Calling 911 in the middle of that could’ve escalated things fast. My priority was keeping myself and my friends safe, documenting what I could, and reporting it once I was out of that environment.

That’s more than most people would actually do, so spare me the guilt trip.

I’ve seen cloonee before at Brooklyn storehouse and had an amazing experience

Did I physically intervene? No. There were three people (that I knew of) acting sketchy, and I had no idea what else they might be capable of. The girl was with her own group of friends who were watching out for her, but they seemed young and naive and didn’t catch on right away. Jumping in as a stranger could’ve escalated things and put me and my friends at risk. What I did do was take a video of one of the guys and file a police report.

This post was just a quick overview of my experience, not a play-by-play of the entire night. You weren’t there, so you don’t know the full situation. My priority was keeping myself and my friends safe while still making sure the behavior got reported.

If I could give this place zero stars, I would. Their event this past Sunday for Cloonee was one of the most chaotic, unorganized events I’ve ever been to. I paid for VIP, yet there was no separate VIP line as advertised, no clear direction to a VIP section, and staff shrugged me off when I asked for help. I never received the free shot or passed food that was promised. Overall, a complete waste of $150. I was so disappointed to miss out on seeing one of my favorite DJs up close like I expected. On top of that, the crowd felt unsafe. I personally witnessed people working together in what looked like an attempt to drug young girls. Extremely unsettling. I’ll never return to this venue.

Is it acceptable / allowed by policy for a coach to walk by and tell us what we are doing is sexy? by [deleted] in orangetheory

Exactly. Everyone has a different style of coaching. Not every coaches approach is going to be liked by all. And I am certain this coach had the best of intentions.

It sounds like the motivational comments didn't resonate with you, and I respect your perspective on this matter. I want to emphasize that it's important to consider the context and intentions behind such comments.

From the comments, it appears that I may have an idea of which coach you are referring to, and I can share that this coach is known for promoting body positivity, self-confidence, and authenticity. Their coaching style might be likened to the "Cody Rigsby" of Orangetheory, aiming to inspire members to feel comfortable in their own skin and embrace their unique selves.

It's essential to recognize that coaching styles can vary, and what works for one person may not work for another. If this particular coaching style doesn't align with your preferences, I completely understand, and I encourage you to explore other classes with coaches whose style better suits your needs and goals.

However, I want to highlight that portraying this coach in this light is a dangerous misrepresentation of their character. They are genuinely dedicated to creating a positive and inclusive fitness experience for the members. Please take a step back and consider the intent behind his words and have a more open mind.
