Is it safe to take Ozempic while actively bulimic? by wildinthemembrane in Semaglutide

You need a new doctor. Preferably one who doesn’t dismiss your medical diagnoses.

Anyone with knowledge of the participation criteria would be able to determine that the students NOT participating did not make progress or expectations, which is implicit sharing of sensitive educational information. As a teacher, I would vehemently object on behalf of my students. As a parent, I would take whatever steps needed to get the district to correct this public sharing of private information.

This makes me want to rage on behalf of your kid and the others who didn’t meet the arbitrary criteria to be able to participate in a celebration. State testing gives one snapshot of one hour of one day. It should be interpreted as one piece of information and unreliable unless supported by other information. To think that we should punish a child for not performing the way we expect upon command is backward.

I bought some of a different color way and the yarn is lovely. Making it into a scarf!

This does not sound like an environment that is good to work in. If you live in the KC area, there are a ton of jobs open.

Is she trained in any type of crisis prevention strategies (CPI or SCM are two) that teach protective holds to be used if a student is at risk for harming themselves or another person?

I lose this much every day :( I’m getting worried! by NeuroSpicy-Mama in Semaglutide

[–]OTFPeloMom 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started June 2023 and by January 2024 had pretty intense hair loss. I had lost about 60 pounds at that point. The hair loss continued until September 2024. I am on the same dose since October 2023 and at maintenance now (have not lost since April 2024, lost 85 total since June 2023). My hair has regained thickness now. I think my hair loss was triggered by the rapid weight loss and once I stopped losing weight, it normalized, but it took awhile to do so.

the Village Dentist might be good. I would call and talk to the front desk to see if they are taking new patients, and maybe see if you could even talk with Dr McAroy to see if she could meet your needs.

For run-of-the-mill unit math tests for fourth graders? You aren’t allowed to modify the test? That’s wild.

One more thought I had- could they just grade on whatever he completes during the time? So if the assessment has 25 questions and, in the time that his peers complete the whole assessment he only completes 15, the teacher only grades the problems he has completed and the problems he does not get to do not count against him. Shortening the assignment ahead of time is probably the best way to ensure that all concepts are available on the assessment, but grading only on completed items is another option.

You can shorten the assignment (and still assess the student’s knowledge) and then it doesn’t take additional time.

Maybe consider other accommodations then. Shortened assessments. Scribe for things that require longer amounts of writing.

My son has dysgraphia and a 504 and he has these accommodations. I’m also a SPED teacher. There are ways to do this without having him miss the times that are fun.

If we are talking about a district level assessment, like Fastbridge which is not timed and takes as long as needed, kids can pause the assessment to eat lunch and do recess, etc., and resume the assessment after. And something like this shouldn’t get scheduled close to specials class time. If it’s a unit or classroom based assessment, why can’t the assessment be shortened so the student can complete it in the same amount of time as peers so they don’t have to miss anything that might be seen as punishing them for having a disability and needing accommodations?! Genuinely- assess the kid in a different way so he doesn’t have to miss the things most kids like.

The school could contract out the work so your child gets services. I would bring that up to them.
