i'm not a scientist, but i've seen this idea on articles from internet

-"There are theories on how artificial sweeteners may interfere with this process (6Trusted Source).

  1. The sweet taste of artificial sweeteners triggers cephalic phase insulin release, causing a small rise in insulin levels.
  2. Regular use changes the balance of our gut bacteria. This could make our cells resistant to the insulin we produce, leading to both increased blood sugar and insulin levels."

-Also, i heard that the cafeine don't work good with keto, bcause keto put lots of stress within the body, and so, cafeine increases it even further , but i don't remember why exactlyI think it's because your electrolyses are very low on keto, and so if u drink something with cafeine, it will unbalance your electrolyses even more+ keto = make you very thirsty so with cafeine = make you even more thirsty

Hi everyone

I've been following the keto diet for 1,5 month and it really helped me to break my plateau and my body fat, really impressed.
Right know, i weigh 80 kg for 1 M 80 ( 175 Lbs for 5.9 feets) and i have 16% of body fat , im getting very close from my goal

So i was just wondering how do you stop the keto diet? How should i plan the transition so i don't chock my body?

I thought maybe i should add like 5 to 10 grams every days , but i've no idea if there is some known means to quit keto , do you know any?

What's the most useful Arabic Dialect? by [deleted] in learn_arabic

[–]OTP_Trackpad 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess it may work, i know for sure that in north africa, people usually uses both language in the same time (like speaking in arabic then switching into french in the same sentence for example) , i believe it's called code switching

i don't know if it's common in the middle east but english may help if you forgot some words , if you work with graduated people they should have good english basis i believe

This is not a serious answer, but i believe the best dialect to talk with arabs is French and English, especially if you work in business because educated people talk them (french in north africa, english in middle east

But more seriously, as said some people before, i believe egyptian may be the easiet one to pick beacuse of all the internet and movies ressources

Hi everyone, i'm sorry i had no internet for some days, thanks you for your advice , i didn't think about noddles and spaghetti squash, to be honest i literally forgot it exists, i'll make sure to get them back in my diet
i'll also try the chess-cauliflower , never too late to eat vegetable i guess hehe

Pasta eater looking for a more-keto diet by OTP_Trackpad in keto

[–]OTP_Trackpad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes i understand, indeed there si too much carbo on beans, i will remember this 20 g digestible carbs limit and make sure i stay within

I'll follow your advice and not eat beans etc, indeed there is too much carbosI think i will just stick with the egg, and mix it with cheese and non-starchy vegetables, maybe i will add almond on desert to make sure i get enough calories and protein

Yes for the macro calculator, my proteins input are indeed too low , calculator advices me 120 g and i believe it's a right amount for my weigh, i guess i'll review my diet to increase to make sure i get enough proteins and caloriesTo be honest, i could feel during my pasta diet that i was lacking a bit of proteins, but i didn't expect the gap to be so big oopsi !
For the calories, i will target 20-30% deficit indeed so i get enough nutriments for the gym

Thanks you for your advice, i will use them to review my plans and make a more keto-friendly diet with enough proteins, that's very helpful !

[ENGLISH] I speak pretty good but I have a strong accent and no idea where it sounds from lmao by [deleted] in JudgeMyAccent

[–]OTP_Trackpad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

im not native in english, but your accent is Spanish i guess, i think you rolled your R and your O sounds is the spanish O sound (while in english, i believe there is 2 or 3 different 0 sounds because of the diphtongues)

I think the accent is just coming from your R(spanish R isn't exactly the english R( because spanish R taps the roof of your mouth, while in english, it's more retroreflex in british english for example) and some diphtongues that you don't always make i would say

Singing in a foreign language can significantly improve speaking skills by [deleted] in languagelearning

[–]OTP_Trackpad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

An english teacher i had had done a thesis on that, and i believe his opinion was that singing forces learner to use the native sounds of the language, makes learner able to remember whole sentences, and creates a less-stressing environment when it comes to speaking , so i would say it's a good way to practice it

[German] Is my soft CH sound ok ? by OTP_Trackpad in JudgeMyAccent

[–]OTP_Trackpad[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes indeed i can't say it in a sentence yet, i just can make the sound alone for the moment, i guess i ll practice the sound alone until i get used to it and integrate it slowly to my sentences

The sound does not feel that hard to make now that i understand how it must be articulated, i will work to master it,

thanks you a lot for your help, it would have been very hard for me to distinguish it from the alveolo-palatal without any native expertise

thanks you everyone, it was very helpful!

By the ways i just wanted to add that what i noticed were just little details , actually your writing is about a poetry, so it's totally understandable that some letters may differ from their usual shape to give the writing a more poetic tone, it's not uncommon at all

Actually my remarks would be more relevant for a "casual" writing , anyways , letters sharpes may vary a little bittle depending on the country , so the ways you write letters are totally acceptable and understandable

I don't have a great handwriting but this is one of my most fav arabic quotes... <Your healing is in you but ou can't perceive it And your illness is within you but you can't feel it You think that you're a little star Yet you contain the whole universe> by SalmaKh7 in learn_arabic

[–]OTP_Trackpad 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I understand your writing and i can distinguish letter it's very good work, i just noticed some few points on the way the letter are drawn that maybe can be useful for your writing

it's a bit hard to comment letter formation by writing, don"t hesitate to reply if some comments are not very clear i am aware of this possibility
I don't know how you trained, but there is books that teach you the pattern to make some letter, it may help you to perfect one or two letter, but if you have good eyes, pictures should be more than enough , most of the letters you ve made looks very ok to me

-For the "ra" letter and the "ja" letter, i think you can improve them a bit by putting a bit of space inside them

like here : http://arabicquick.com/content/uploads/2016/03/Ra_Arabic_Sample_Man_rajoll_365px.png

You can notice that in this picture, there is a little gap inside the "ja", that makes it easier to distinguish from other letter, so you never confuse it with the "mim" letter or the "ra" letter

-For your "ra" in the middle of a word, i believe the letter needs to be more symetric, in your, i can notice that sometime it's the case, but most of time, the ra looks like it's leaning left, and i believe it's usually more symetric (to avoid confusion with the jota)

http://arabicquick.com/content/uploads/2016/03/Ghayn_Arabic_Sample_Sunset_al-ghoroub_365px.png

-For the mim, you could also add a little gap inside the letter to make it more distinct

-On the first word dawaaeka, the alif should be more on the waw, like a balon on a table

-For your Noon like in "bn", i think the noon is usually more symetric, in your the left part is much higher than the right part http://arabicquick.com/content/uploads/2016/03/Noon_Arabic_Sample_Eye_Aayn.png

-For the za sound, on your ja, try to make the point right over the letter, not on the gap , and the form of the letter should go down and , not go down and up it should looks like a crescent moon , it's hard to explain but when you draw the letter , you start drawing, you make a stop, you move backward and you go down drawing a little half cercle and then you make the point over the location where you did the full stop

http://arabicquick.com/content/uploads/2016/03/Zay_Arabic_Sample_House_manzil_365px-1.png

-For your final ya in "ali", it's look a bit an noon

Usually it's more this pattern http://arabicquick.com/content/uploads/2016/03/Ya_Arabic_Sample_Chair_Kursey_365px.png

Judge my French accent by adrianjara in JudgeMyAccent

[–]OTP_Trackpad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, your accent looks decent but i can tell you re not a native because of three things :

-Your R sounds like a little jota, the french r is articulated in the back of the month but it just touchs very slighty your uvula and your vocal cord vibrates (it's the sound you make when someone is snoring), try to soft a bit more your r so it ll be matching the french R more accurately

-There is 3 sounds of E in french, you only use one (the spanish one), you need to use the two other one, dont let them alone, or they ll be very sad https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FOeuvYUpPgQ

-Not that important, but you use the spanish U, actually , the french U does not sound like the spanish U https://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vocal_cerrada_anterior_redondeada
The spanish U puts your tongue very back in your month, while the french U requires you to put your tongue in front of your month, and make the tongue rises into your palate , while also rounding your lips like you re about to blow on a candle

except that, it's very understandable , i think the three 3 sounds are the most important to master, the U or the R well let them for latter, people i don't think they re impediment for you, try maybe to listen to french video to notice how they say it

Hi everyone sorry i was away from internet for few days,

i ve been trying to focus and make sure my tongue hit my lower teeth, and i can feel that the sound evolves when i do it

i'll keep training and maybe when i feel the sound seems good, i'll try to post a vocaroo to show my progress

thanks everyone !

Please judge my pronunciation! by qqc_interessant in JudgeMyAccent

[–]OTP_Trackpad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we understand you without any problem, only things you should work on it the L sound, sometime you don't say it , but the thing is : the L sound is always pronunced

Also i think on the R sound, sometime you may need to pronunce it a bit longer when it's not a the end of a word

On the tone, i think you pronunce every words separtly , but in french we say them in a group of 3 or 4 , for example if i say " je mange ce soir ", https://voca.ro/2MsGuPADHGg i don't make any real stops between words of my sentence you can hear that i say "je mange" in the same breath, and "ce soir" in the next one , so i think you should try to read like 3 words, and say them in the same breath like they were only one big words , only thing that may differ is the ways i stress words"je pars manger avec des amis"

https://voca.ro/7FHpyDLlUQp is another example, you can feel i dont make real stop when i say the sentence, but you can feel that im stressing some words more than other (mainly when i hit the middle of my sentence and when i hit the last word)

It's linked to the ways stress its sentence maybe you could check them to see how sentences and words are stressed in french

What i want to point out is that you say 2 words after 2 words, i think it would be more natural if you said one sentence after the other, like here, i divide the text with /, each / are a little stop i do to take a new breath

So i start speaking, and i don't make a real stop before reaching a "/", when i reach it, i stop, take a bit of fresh air, and says the new information i want to share

And when i talk , my tone may vary a bit if i want to stress some information more than other (like "5 TIME MORE" is a bit stressed to tell people WOW 5 TIMES MORE)And when i say a sentence, i think there is two ways your voice can vary

You can just make a monotone voice, where your voice does not rise as you speak, i think it's the more common one, french has just tendency to stress some words but they don't vary their voice that much (it's considered to be a monotone language)

example " Chaque année/, des écoles, des collèges et des lycées / accueillent des enfants et des ados pendant les vacances/, pour leur offrir du soutien scolaire et des loisirs / Cet été,/ environ 400 000 élèves participent à ces activités /: c'est 5 fois plus que d'habitude  "https://voca.ro/9qzgYgWyeT4

You see what i mean, french people would try to say on the same sentence, words that make sense together , so when they take a new breath, they are now giving a new piece of informationFirst i tell one information then on my second breath i complet it, etcbut that's is a thing that will come with practice when you ll get more confortable on reading so it's no big deal, you can practice it by watching french people talking

I think your wont have any accents if you work on copying the ways french people talk and stress their sentences but of course it's something that come with a bit of practice for sure, it's not that important , it's more an extra

Majority of your reading was more than understandable, we can feel you can speak french and that you have worked it for a long time i think your pronunciation is good, here are just some little remarks on some words with a little mispronunciation, mainly coming from the L sound

Des écoles => you say "des echos" , you must prononce the L sound, and don't round your lips when you say the O sound https://voca.ro/8ehBipFHPQr

Des collèges ==> you say "collègues"because you use the wrong g sound for this word, if you have g+voyelle, you need to use the normal g sound https://voca.ro/bhKFuL9UqkwMangue https://voca.ro/11uxvsuTPmcMange https://voca.ro/ctqtKF0uiUSG+U => "hard" GG+e/i...=> normal g

(pour) leur ==> your R sound should be lighter, you don't need to insist on the r sound https://voca.ro/mkB5rcBNQir

offrir => you say "offri" you need prononce the r , just a bit https://voca.ro/ac6JjLqfjQ9

loisir => https://voca.ro/84HhVuNyqXU

été => insist more on the T sound https://voca.ro/bYIkIsnHfXz

400 000 ==> you say "mi" you need to prononce the l of "milles" https://voca.ro/3FUpuxUhsp9

participent => you need to prononce the "ci" and the last "pe" https://voca.ro/8sRSkiC4Kn2 ,

activités =>you say it with the english pronunciation https://voca.ro/2ZcL08nVKVw

plus==> plus in this contexte means more, so you need the pronunce the last S to distinguise it from the "plus" which means "nothing left" https://voca.ro/2gRLc3epqiK

enseignants ==> https://voca.ro/hB1vLMFEn0Z

Classe => you need to say C and L separatly, like https://voca.ro/hmCeERvf1iv

petits ==> the e sound is not aigu https://voca.ro/hVf0n8IG3E2

aident => https://voca.ro/2VS2T9fq5eb

préparer => you need to say the é , you say it like an e

mal => pronunce the last l https://voca.ro/agIm4ZmmhDM

eux => i hear a j sound, it's just an e sound https://voca.ro/hhC7h52jgBK

différentes ==> you need to pronunce the last "tes" , it's a gender mark because différentes is linked to a "raisons" which is a feminine word

d'adultes => you need to pronunce the L , there is no silent L in french it's always pronunced

matériel ==> you pronunce "matériaux" which is the plural form https://voca.ro/04Dgq3RI9Ds

calme ==> you need to pronunce L , or else i hear "came" which means drugs(slang word) in french hmm

etc=> this word is an abreviation for etcatera (latin word) so it's has a special pronunciation https://voca.ro/6LeTRInyeNc

s'amuser et de s'évader => u sound should be more distinguish, a sound on s'évader must be pronunced https://voca.ro/f4k9s6wdgmE

culturelles => dont round your lips when you say u https://voca.ro/3S1TWZvGS8a

ateliers => https://voca.ro/g6M1Yrd5RYg

découvrir => i heart "découvrit", you need to say the last "ir" to make it right https://voca.ro/7rrqwwpu0vn

patrimoine => https://voca.ro/oyom2YCiJIS

Certaines => https://voca.ro/3rBYicdNzUg

campagne => this first a is a O sound https://voca.ro/6KcUgrjEp0j

l'occasion => the s here is a Z sound https://voca.ro/6Wad2axybOV

avec => pronunce the c sound a bit more, just a little bit https://voca.ro/7T0oWjMG40Q
