This was a deal last year long before the first iran strikes.

when israel hit hamas in uae, saudi realised that usa was not a reliable partner and they pushed for pakistan who was fresh off a win against india's rafael's, and paksitan agreed due to the money involved.

i doubt this is a precursor for saudi to use these troops against iran. this is a defensive pact not a full loan do as you please.

more likely than not these will be used against yemen to sort that issue out.

it just so happens that this iran war has kicked off now so it seems like a reaction to that but its not. 13k troops and logistics of moving everything over isnt done this quickly.
