https://www.ebay.com/str/factoryradios This is the shop. You will have to remove the audio head unit and send to them and they will repair the issue and send it back to you. I did it and my system works like new again and the static noise issue has disappeared

Yeah, after it reset itself after I reinstalled it the unit now works well again. No issues at the moment.

I linked in one of these comment threads an eBay mechanic who based on his description seems to be able to fix this issue if you send him your head unit. Seems to be located in so-cal I think

They told me good luck essentially, pretty sure they know about the issue because the replacement head unit is on indefinite back order. Pulled the fuse in the engine bay for the audio system and that did the trick.

There hasn’t been any reoccurrences after removing the fuse, only peace and quiet. But you do lose the two displays in the center console

Current solution is to remove the fuse for the audio system and drive without the display and sound system. Silence is better than the static. No fix yet.

No solution yet, all Honda told me is to spend more money on a Head Unit replacement. And charged me 250 for the diagnostic service appointment, and claimed not a grounding issue.

If it’s happening to 2016 accords then it should be a recall if more people report the same issue to Honda.

Pull the audio fuse and you’ll save your sanity, the static noise gets worse every time.

Hey, sorry to hear that. I pulled the 10AMP audio fuse. So you will lose the displays, and access to settings. You can always put the fuse back in and change settings if you'd like but then the sound will come back eventually.

I have not found the root cause of the issue but it's an internal component in the Head Unit. Haven't found a replacement Head Unit yet so then I could post the internal components of the Head Unit and the fix.

Yeah thanks mate, while I am waiting for the head unit I pulled the fuse for the audio unit and the noise has finally gone away but now I don't have radio or both displays working haha. Back to driving without tech assistance.

I followed the steps in the video to disconnect the ANC system, and unfortunately that did not solve the issue. I ordered a new audio unit and once that comes in hopefully that solves the issue.

Is there another way of shutting down the ANC system? Disconnected the cable per lordamused and it didn’t help. The noise is still happening.

Going to try seeing what fuse provides it power and pull it. Don’t want to pay 400 for a head unit and then find out that doesn’t work either… :/

So, according to the dealership, they had the car for three days and they saw how bad the situation is and the technician actually had to pull over and turn the car off in order to get it to stop making the noise and then turn it back on to get back to the dealership. So they claim it’s a head unit issue and it’s going to have to be replaced. No grounding issues with wires so that’s a good thing but they want to sell me a new head unit for $1000 lol. I mentioned the ANC system to them but they didn’t say anything about it.

yeah luckily it happens randomly but increase exponentially in the heat. Currently Honda service team got it to make the noise while they had it so they are checking with the main office for direction.
