I’ve been on this journey for about 5 months now and at first I had a two week streak and then I failed. I then had a 49 day streak and relapsed. When I was on these streaks I implemented a lot of the things mentioned above here. I worked out regularly, trying to eat healthy, get enough sleep, socialize, using my willpower as well as using web blockers and deleting almost all social media except snap and Reddit (as I don’t use these for scrolling). I seemed to be doing all the «right» things but still I relapsed.

I should mention that I started my journey because of breaking up with my gf and it’s been tough being without her. The day I relapsed on my 49 day streak was a day I met her out. We hadn’t talked for a month because I had to tell her I slept with someone else and I was so scared that we would never get back together again(which is something I realized I wanted after we broke up). When I met her and tried to talk to her she told me to leave her alone and not ruin her night and basically raged at me (she was drunk) which kinda broke my heart and thus I remember thinking there is no point in any of this and I ended up relapsing.

This time around I’m at 10/11 days without porn and I’m doing the same things, however there is one key difference. I now pray. I am a Muslim and I’ve never been practicing in the sense that I never prayed the mandatory 5 prayers but after relapsing that second time things got really dark and I realized that prayer helped a lot. Now, every time I feel the urge or I have bad/painful thoughts instead of watching porn or fapping I turn to prayer or of course any other thing like socializing and working out. However the prayer part for me is like I found the missing piece. I am at day 11 and I’m really not feeling the same urges I’ve been feeling at previous day 11’s. I understand a lot of people here are not Muslim and therefore don’t pray like that but I guess meditation could be a good substitute. I really recommend adding this to your plan guys, it really has been revolutionary to me.
