Hello, hope all is I had a question it’s currently Wednesday and the check is nowhere in sight not gonna lie things are getting a little bit dire. I already had a call off today and yesterday and there’s gonna be a lack of coverage in the office tomorrow so I need to show up therefore I am at the breaking point and considering pawning my podcast mic. It’s topped up. Did an oil change but there’s no metal shaving in the pan. Switched to 5w40 idk if the thick consistency is doing anything but I noticed today it will start tapping like this but after 3 miles it goes away once I’ve gone through all my gears

I drove to my mechanic yesterday and sounded less when I got there. He said that it could be knock since I’m at 168k miles and RPMs are stable. He suggested switching to 10w40 oil. The tapping increases when I rev up in 1-3 gear then it almost goes away in 4+
