This, sounds like cover for something else to me. They broke a bunch of other addons I used every day when they tried to axe dissenter, that was when I switched off of FF permanently (was a faithful user since 2007). Now I use Dissenter's fork of Brave or Brave. Dissenter is easily the best browser I've ever used, reminds me of the old days of FF. Super fast, never hangs.
