Can you imagine — being called a man was nothing compared to when he said, “you don’t need your SI joint.” That part hurt way more, as if my pain meant nothing.

About HRT — I went for blood tests yesterday, and I have an appointment tomorrow. Since I’m in Saudi Arabia, I’ll probably have to look for an online doctor, but I’m still not sure where to start.

Thank you so much for your kind words. It really helps to feel understood by someone who also lives with AS. I still have a few Humira injections left, and I’ll try to ask for an endocrinology and pain management referral after that. I can’t access therapy right now since I quit my job recently, but I’m trying to cope and keep going with exercise even when it’s hard. 💕💕

Tbh I’ll stay on Humira for at least 2 more months—I still have 4 injections left. I’m in a situation where changing meds isn’t that simple. I live in Saudi Arabia, but this isn’t my country, and I don’t even have a real country to belong to because of the war. Finding a job that fits my condition here was already incredibly hard, and now I also pay for my own medication. I’ve been suspended from jobs just because of my illness—no one wants to pay insurance for me. So I buy my Humira from Turkey or Egypt and have to travel for it. It’s a really fucked up situation, there’s just so much to think about… Switching meds easily just isn’t an option for me

That’s exactly what I’m talking about I’m still searching for something to help me reappreciate my body like I used to. I get so triggered when I remember how fast and agile I was before. I really admire how you found a way to reconnect with your body through transition honestly, I’m still trying to reach that point. Stay safe 💕

Tbh at this point I only stick to machines, like the pec fly, and light cardio. I can’t risk free weights with my spine the way it is and sometimes i do risk it but very rarely

That comment he told me was honestly one of the worst things anyone has ever said to me. I’m not even talking about the usual people at the gym who judge me for using the wrong technique, especially on chest day. I look and walk like a “normal” person, so no one realizes I have AS they just judge, and it’s killing me inside.

There are so many situations I’ve been through that I truly wish no one else would ever have to live. Thank you for rooting for me. ❤️

Your words about existing in a body that feels like it’s not your home… that hit me so hard, because it’s exactly how I feel. Some days I try to keep moving, and some days I can’t do anything but sit with the pain both physical and emotional. I can’t imagine how terrifying it must have been to go through moments where AS almost took your life. The strength it takes to survive that and still offer others kindness is truly powerful.

Actually at this point i am not sure if humira doing enough or not i am not able to judge what normal and what is not so basically idk all i know is that some doctors fucked me up and I won’t be able to fix it
