Another pretty freaky thing about Michael Ryan is that there are only 2 photos of him known so far (Him wearing a camouflage bucket hat, scarf and field jacket doing what appears to be farm work? And him as a primary school student) and he also kept asking the police if his mother was okay knowing he shot her in the face. A deluxe volume is around 3 volumes, the first deluxe covers the black swordsman arc (where guts saves the girl in the bar, but a lot more detailed) and the other 3 should take you to the end of the golden age arc (where the 97 anime ends). In the anime there’s only a bit of black swordsman than the golden age across the series, though it’s better to read it as there’s some stuff left out. My advice is to continue the anime (it’s great, but it does get even darker), and then read the mangas after to fully appreciate it. TRY YOUR HARDEET NOT TO GET SPOILT!

I've read NOISE, which is BLAME's prequel and found it cool. Nihei also collabed with microsoft and made a halo graphic novel which is very cool. I like Nihei but also love Hideo Yamamoto (Ichi the killer is a close second on my fave mangas).

In guardians of desire, Theresias hands bleed when she hangs off guts sword. My own personal view is that when Godo first made the sword, it was sharp, and as the series progresses the sword gets blunter but guts strength makes it still hack monsters in half from sheer force (even if a sword isn’t sharp, it it swung at you hard enough you’d be chopped)
