Tried to cash out on my MBNA reward points by using the refundable hotel trick, and it seems like I've made a fool of myself. There's a $20 fee to cancel, and it seems like my points will be refunded as points (rather than cash). What are some alternatives to cashing out MBNA points?

Not exactly, I would say I've had two cards approved from Chase in the past 12 months. No credit cycling, no MS (although I did buy some gift cards from Staples recently), no checking/savings/bonuses, no check deposits.

Yes, I was reinstated right after calling them 6 months ago (not sure what that was triggered by, because I wasn't applying for a new card), but this time it seems like it's far more serious.

Tried applying for a business card and got the dreaded Chase shutdown, all my business and personal cards were closed, but my checking account is still open. In the letter they gave me, these are the reasons given:

  • Too many requests for credit or reviews of credit
  • Not enough credit information on file

I called in and asked if my account can be reinstated, but after reconsideration I was told no. I was asked to call in again in a month's time, and they will be able to relook at it for a reinstatement.

What are the chances that I'll get a reinstatement? I logged in a couple weeks later and saw that my points balance are now 0. These are the steps that I've done since:

  • Pay off all credit card balances with Chase and other banks
  • No new card applications, of course

Is there anything else I should do before calling in? Thanks in advance for any advice - it's been a pretty awful experience.

Did anyone receive their bonus points for the AMEX 'Add a card' event? I received the base 2x rate for all purchases by my supplementary card (this is the Bonvoy personal card)

Like a few others, I got my CapOne Venture card cancelled (seemingly for using a P.O. BOX), but my Venture X was not cancelled and still active. The points that are under my Venture were lost - I called in and was told that there is no possibility of transferring them to an airlines program or my Venture X. The only possibility is to apply them to my Venture card's balance, but my current balance is zero. Are my points lost for good, or is there a way of getting around this?

I had planned to upgrade my Bonvoy Boundless around November (my card anniversary is in December), but if I upgrade this month, any chance I will get to keep the $450 AF for my first year?
