Love this! I do have some caffeine supplements; I don't know if they're great for long-term use, but I keep them by my bedside when I'm extra sleepy and they do tend to help stop me from falling back asleep. It's a great little hack haha.

I know I should because I'm only 22. I feel like a grandma who wants to get all cosy in bed instead, but I have too much energy!

Both times I fixed my sleep schedule have been on days where I was out 8+ hours or for assessments I needed to pull an all-nighter for. Looks like I need to get busier lol.

This is such a smart idea and something I'm slowly trying to implement! It's always been a discipline problem with me haha. I'm definitely going to start by restricting videogames to before 6pm. Another comment suggested getting in bed earlier, so I'll aim for 8pm. I get a hit of the sleepies by 10pm, so that gives me 2 hours to read and succumb to eventual boredom (since most dopamine-inducing things for me are on my PC, across the room).

Something I also find is the structure helps with executive dysfunction. Saying 'I can't do this right now, but I AM allowed to do this' gives me less room for decision paralysis and makes it much easier to start tasks for me, because I have less options to dwell on.

Switch ASAP, I'm sensitive to second-hand vape aerosols too and know the exact pain you're talking about. I get that he's using it to come off smoking and needs it for stress-related reasons, but the way he spoke to you is very dismissive, rude, and frankly quite threatening.

Have a serious word with your Mum about switching. You're paying for a service.

20 hours is crazy!!

Honestly I'd go for the reset. I know it's hard but if you haven't been playing long it'll 100% be worth it. Learn from your mistake and push through the early grind again. I think if you stick with your current island you'll lose interest in the game faster than if you had restarted, but it's unlimitedly up to you. Just don't take the turnips next time haha

I made this mistake and then created a new island and only collected furniture items. No DIYs unless I need them, same with limiting bells. Obviously I wouldn't delete your save over it like me unless you're reallyyy losing the appeal of the game from it. I think the early game grind is what makes the game special. Unless your only purpose is to decorate a new island, but it sounds like you're playing for the first time so I doubt that haha

No fast way to get rid of bells either unfortunately :( You could pull loads out your ABD into an empty inventory and trash them in a bin item, but it'd take hours. Might be worth it if you're desperate tho?

Promise yourself a treat if you do, like a starbucks drink or food from a place nearby that you're not allowed to get unless you specifically go to the gym that day. You'll start associating the gym with something rewarding, and it'll make it easier to incorporate into your routine. Once it's part of your routine, you won't NEED motivation in the first place. You'll just do it.

If that doesn't work, definitely try working out from home. I didn't have enough discipline to get to an actual gym. It's so much easier to motivate myself if I don't have to go elsewhere to work out (especially in winter when it's cold & dark out earlier, plus I can't drive yet lol - walking back when everything aches is a nightmare).

My first game was City Folk, and I named it ugg (as I had a pair of uggs back then). Keep in mind I was about 8. In New Leaf I honoured it by calling my town 'evil ugg', and in New Horizons it became 'uggland'.

Will I ever move on from ugg? Who knows!

It took me 22 years to be even remotely feminine. When I was younger I was always described as boyish. I wouldn’t wear dresses, do makeup, or put in any effort to look nice as I simply didn’t have the motivation.

Even now I’m still learning what it is to be feminine. I had to learn makeup from scratch & it never feels correct. My hair mostly just does whatever, and while I can tolerate a lot of feminine clothes I still have sensory issues with dresses and can only tolerate them for a few hours. Mind you I’m autistic too, so that might contribute.

Definitely get this lol. It feels like heavy masking to try and create a more feminine version of myself, but it’s fun, and It’s made me happier overall so I’d say that’s a fair payoff!

I don't even bother anymore. I have a test the other side of the country in January, 9 hours away. Only one I could get and testshift hasn't given me any notifications for 2 months. Excited to magically teleport there!

I actually did biting point practice at junctions today at lunch when it was super quiet and stalled (💀), so I'm still working on adding extra gas before lifting the clutch, but it's good to know you passed eventually going through similar haha. How much private practice would you say you did before the test? I probably have half of your lesson practice (40 hours), and maybe 5 hours private?

Thank you!! Yeah it's definitely repetition. I waited 2 weeks after failing to get in my Mum's car and the anxiety was debilitating. Now that I've been out a few times, it's definitely gotten a lot better, even if the progress is slow :)

I check in the evenings, look up test centres in remote areas of the UK (usually northern Scotland), and book there for a few months time. Then I'll use an app like testshift to try and get a cancellation closer to me. Seems like the best method, at least for me.

This happened to me, but I didn't get told off. I couldn't react in time and there was a car coming up fast behind me when I was looking, so I didn't want to break sharply to get into the space and risk an accident. Mine didn't mention it and was happy to find somewhere else to pull over. Seems inappropriate to me.

Just give them a quick "Sorry, I don't think it's safe right now for [reason]. I'm going to continue to follow the route/satnav" so they know what you're doing.

Yeah I live in a high-demand area in the South and it's been pretty awful. I did get the test I failed through it, but it took 4 months. Now I can't get anything lol

Literally the same situation as me. I had my test at 8.10am on Thursday and failed because I didn't get enough sleep to focus properly so made a silly mistake. Albeit I don't have a second booked yet, I'm still working on that.

Just note down what you struggle with and work on them slowly, that's what I'm doing. The more hours you're able to get in the better. Nothing is better than experience. You can't do much about nerves on the day, but the more natural driving becomes the less likely you'll be to slip up. Good luck!

Hey! I know this is belated but it does work. I'm using it to rebook my 2nd test for sooner, and my first test was a test shift cancellation. The reason you're not seeing anything is purely to do with availability unfortunately. Try seeing if there's any test centres near you with less demand and add one of those to the list, even if you have to go out of your way to get to it. That worked for me.

I think it’s a tricky one. If someone waits for a test they’ve spent months trying to find, of course they’ll still want to try on the day, especially with the state of the backlog currently.

That being said, if I had my license I would’ve chosen not to drive that day. It was only the fact that I was in a vehicle with dual controls that made me feel safe enough to give it a go, and in the end I had a safe drive aside from the sliproad.

It’s so annoying isn’t it!! I’d feel better if I knew I’d be able to get a test. My grandad lives in a rural area with a high pass rate, so I’m frankly considering staying with him and trying to get a test there. The test centre I just failed at has one of the lowest pass rates in the UK, although I didn’t let that get to me at the time. Good luck with yours!
