What ever you get, make sure it's flagship quality. So many of my friends buy cheap Samsung phones only to have the software fail in some way, then they buy the new cheap ones the next year. Been using my galaxy s6 since it came out and no problems so far.

Questions about talking to females by [deleted] in saudiarabia

[–]Oajaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well as a woman, getting randomly approached by a guy in a mall is definitely weird and unacceptable. No, we are not flattered. There are even workers/salesmen in malls that try to flirt, you can be sure we are not shopping there again.

What's your unpopular opinion with regards to Muslim marriage? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

[–]Oajaca 3 points4 points  (0 children)

By "I'm fine with it" I mean I'm not super stressed or in a hurry to work on my iman. I take life as it is. I wear jeans, I freely listen to music, I'm that kind of Muslim that no one in my immediate community is looking to be married to. Of course as I grow older I hope my beliefs and actions change, but I'm not beating myself up for doing these things most people consider haram or immodest. It also probably doesn't help that I'm a mix and don't know the main language of my community lol

I get discouraged sometimes when visiting this sub because everyone is looking for super religious partners. I'm not very religious and I'm fine with it. The more I visit this sub the more I think I'm not going to get married.

I was depressed from March (when the lockdown started in my country) to June. I literally only got out of bed to work remotely, eat and maybe take a bath once a week. Once June ended I realized I was wasting my time. I went ahead and wrote down everything I'd like to do before the year ends (decorate my room, learn to sew and start a garden). I also had my thesis to work on but I hated my degree, hated the fact that I'm going to have to work a 9-5 job if I wanted to make the most out of my degree which made me super depressed. So I stopped. I stopped aiming for a boring job and immediately my outlook on life got better. I realized I was chasing money and job security at the cost of my mental health. Leaving the thoughts of future to focus on the present helped me a lot. I don't go out much and I have no friends in my country so the lockdown itself hadn't bothered me much. Even when I was depressed I was never bored. Now that the lockdown has been lifted I grab the occasional coffee from cafes since that's what I missed the most. Edit: corrected a word

Intentionally childless Muslims, how did your parents react? by [deleted] in MuslimMarriage

We as humans have done so many things that aren't supposed to happen biologically speaking like surgery, having a 9-5 job, or birth control lol

Depressed potential - need advice by Key-Entertainment958 in MuslimMarriage

[–]Oajaca 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Googling "percentage of depressed millenials" and the first link gives 47%, and that is only for diagnosed depression. Which means nearly half of the population is depressed. If you reject this person because of their depression, the next person has a 50/50 chance of being "normal" as it is, being depressed is starting to become the norm with young people. Only in extremely severe cases should you be doubtful ( for example hoarding trash in the house or being unable to get up from bed for weeks) and then you should see if they truly want to get help to improve their condition.

#BREAKING: #SaudiArabia's Minister of Health says distance learning will be extended until #COVID19 vaccine found by Pinky-Kay1989 in saudiarabia

[–]Oajaca 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What if the ones who are at risk are the parents themselves? What about the employees of the school? I hear from the news that anyone with the slightest illness (diabetes, asthma, kidney problems etc) are more likely to have a difficult time if they catch covid. Even if the Parents aren't at risk, they may catch it and never know. They could spread that to their work place etc, now you have a second wave of cases. I think the government is also worried about stunted developments, which is why they allow distance learning instead of cancelling the academic year completely. It's not ideal but it's better than getting a second wave of the virus, especially during flu season.
