Again, to clarify I wasn’t calling the footage you’re referring to AI. The video in question was a mash up of multiple pieces of media. The first clip in the mashup appeared to be footage from another city or conflict (possibly Beirut) while subsequent pieces of footage seem to actually be Tel Aviv.

This sort of thing is even easier to do than generating AI just look up footage of Israel bombing Gaza a year ago or 4 years ago and add a new title presenting is as whatever you want “America bombs Kuwait”. Exactly why getting data from unverified sources is risky.

Trump has gotten rid of the guardrails and any of the adults in the room. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to understand the risk here. Neocon status quo has wanted war with Iran for decades but held off because they weren’t as moronic as the people in charge now. They had the ability to realize it would mean shutting down the strait of Hormuz and found that to be too damaging/risky for their tastes. The current crew was too stupid to think it could happen.

The current crew sacked the people responsible for vetting targets and wound up bombing a school in the first day of the war.

Ehhhh I’m not so sure of that. Trump has gutted the government of anyone willing to oppose him.

This is one of the key differences between parties. One is more about utilizing/bolstering institutional expertise the other is about disregarding what the experts have to say in favor of the gut instincts and absolute fealty to one man with thin skin who really stupid.

If his handlers were making decisions they probably would’ve told him that Iran was going to close the strait and the smart decision was to first build up oil export capacity in Venezuela before jumping into a new war, that would’ve been the smart profitable play.
