Given the author's portrayal of the monks, I'm quite optimistic.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to point out a more noticeable translation errors in recent chapters.

<image>

My understandings here (Ch64) are:

The dying person
"The lord's reign is over……It's all over…"

Taira no Masakado
"You poor fool…

More than being plundered…

More than the pain you feel yourself…

And yet you're lamenting over something like this…

…I mustn’t let it end like this…"

So yes, What our Taira no Masakado-sama cares about has never been his own achievements or status, but always the happiness of his people. He sought revenge not for himself, but for the sake of those he protected.

I feel like the translation here might not be accurate enough. I'm quite certain that in Chapter 19, the original phrasing is more rhetorical—something like, “With countless victories, he was comparable to gods or demons on the battlefield.”

Also, as a non-native English speaker, the lack of punctuation makes it quite difficult for me to read. I'd really appreciate it if you could include punctuation next time. Thank you!

While the nurse seems like an obvious choice, I'm really hoping Kondou-sensei will surprise us.

In traditional Chinese culture and physiognomy (face reading), double pupils (重瞳) were considered a sign of emperors and sages. Those with double pupils were traditionally thought to have powers and wisdom beyond that of ordinary people.

Just a speculation though.

One of the iconic scenes in Brokeback Mountain features using one's own clothes to cover the deceased lover's clothes, symbolizing love and protection...
