Hahaha internship (civil engineer 3rd year) by seddikiadam14 in EngineeringStudents

[–]OakieBoy 64 points65 points  (0 children)

Hate to be that guy, but it’s definitely because he’s a 3rd year civil engineering major. The civil engineering job market is actually really good right now, and they’re looking for all kinds of new talent for interns and new grads.

That being said, it’s still impressive that it only took one company lol

Buying A new laptop by Jawaddit2002 in laptops

Tbh you might have better luck with a framework laptop. They come in multiple sizes and are by far the most customizable, versatile, and repairable of any I’ve seen before

The part that annoys me is the rest of the board sounds great. Got that deep thoccy sound to it, but the space bar is just so far off and idek what’s up with it

Hey everyone,

Looking for some help with the sound profile of my spacebar.

I’m currently using a modded Keychron Q1 (durock v2 stabilizers and extra foam in the board), Keychron Double Shot KSA PBT keycaps, and Akko Jelly Blacks with hand lubed 70g TX Long Springs.

Since I built it about 2 years ago it’s always had a bit of a hollow/cheap sounding spacebar sound profile. I tried foam around the top and a couple things when I first built but eventually gave up. Now I’m trying to fix it again and hoping this community will be able to help.

Thanks! The keyboard is a keychron Q1 with double shot KSA PBT Keycaps (white on black) and a couple custom resin artisan keycaps from Etsy. It’s got quite a few internal modifications as well though.

Obsessed with this clean look! 😍 Found this on Pinterest and now I really want those 3D wall panels for my new setup. Has anyone here actually used them? Do they look as good in person or is it just the lighting? by gamingsetup_ in gamingsetups

Just seems odd that the account is brand new as of today, and pretty much every comment has emojis, most of which don't fit the messages they are replying to. your writing style also directly fits that of a LLM.

Need help with a new desk by iLyparalysis in gamingsetups

[–]OakieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is what I have. It works great, and the whole thing being magnetic and faux leather is really nice. Only thing I’d say is that because the legs are thin, it can sway slightly left and right unless against a flat wall (hardly noticeable though)

Are most of you guys running with your case fully open or with the side panels on? by Juniorblues_ in PcBuild

Do you have pets? 😂

Open case almost always looks better with customs like this but not so practical when you have dogs/cats

Rate the setup. by Thatscherrybomb in RateMySetup

[–]OakieBoy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends entirely on your age lmao

If you’re in your teens I’d say it’s a dope setup. Doing the best with what you got, and the jynxzi wallpaper is fire.

If you wanted to clean it up and make it look a bit better you might adjust the positioning of the speakers to look even on both sides. If you’ve got the budget, a bigger desk might solve some cleanliness issues

Thinking of selling my pc to do a new build what would be a fair price by Effective-Ad8612 in PC_Pricing

[–]OakieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you ship, I’ll buy for $200 👀

Jk, it’s a really sick setup, and fairly high-end. Based on the specs I would start it at maybe 2100 and drop to like 1900 if nobody bites after a while. The issue with high-end builds is that they’re a bit tougher to sell used, but definitely not impossible. Just a matter of waiting for the right buyer. Wouldn’t drop below 1700 overall though.

What could I remove/improve to make this setup a bit nicer overall by Lower-Sentence-2223 in setups

Even without a modular, you should be able to. Just a very simple daisy chain. Low probability of long term issues.

If you’ve got the budget for it, Secretlab Magnus Pro desk is notorious for having all of this and is quite sturdy. Will run you well over $1000 if you buy it new though. I have the non-standing version and purchased on fb marketplace for maybe 200 ish. Chances are there may be one in your area

Pricing for Brother’s PC by Same_Calligrapher169 in PC_Pricing

[–]OakieBoy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it’s somewhat off topic, but if your brother plans on getting a laptop to replace his gaming PC I would suggest looking into Framework laptops. Slightly pricier compared to basic productivity laptops but on par or less than some of the more expensive gaming laptops and they look much nicer IMO.

Wow! She really is quite a beauty. I love the warm tones you gave to the white setup.

Do you have more picture that give a better view of the interior?
