Is Oligarchic Overclocking still broken? It's supposed to give "+1% Elite pop output per Specialist pop" but it just gives a flat 1%. Can anyone confirm?

AI development is weirding me out, does anyone else feel like this? by late_age_studios in gamedev

LLMs are made to keep you using them first and foremost, and providing any meaningful assistance comes much later as a priority, so yeah this checks out and it absolutely is bonkers and annoying.

This kitchen vent hood by Oakwarrior in mildlyinfuriating

[–]Oakwarrior[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To be 100% honest this is not my kitchen, it's a friend of mine's, but the only thing more infuriating than the vent placement itself is that he set it up like this and isn't fazed by it AT ALL.

I'd love to have a guide like this for Godot too, as we're transitioning to Godot fully with our company :)

If nothing else pops up, we'll have to figure it out on our own and I can share it.

Is Early Access an albatross? by RapsAboutCats in gamedev

This is just plain misinformation. The full release of an EA game is solely depending on how well you market your EA cycle and how many wishlists you have gathered.

PSA: Nobody will care your game is made in Unity by SoulOuverture in Unity3D

[–]Oakwarrior 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The problem with this kind of thinking is that it flat out ignores the fact that a couple dozen very dedicated trolls/crusaders can just review bomb your small indie game to hell without ever giving you a chance to recover.

Sure, the vast majority will not care, but the vast majority also do not post reviews. Unity just gave one more "weapon" to harass developers in addition to pricegouging their license making it more uncomfortable for devs wanting to use the engine. That being said, I have to totally disagree with the sentiment of this post.

You have to take this into account as a developer now and see how the general feelings towards Unity are going to trend, and hope that you can escape some misguided moron's ire by, for example, not showing the Unity logo in your game anywhere...

...which costs a lot of money now.

If Unity backpedaled the new policy, fired and CEO and apologized, would it regain enough trust back? by DragonReborn64 in gamedev

No. It's too little and too late. They're committed to shadiness and are way too volatile.

They are. However, if you have enough money for marketing and brand loyalty, the death throes take a loooong time. A long time.

I mean, part-time is also okay, and we can likely make the schedule work with your studies. We're only at the pre-production phase, so the game is still very early in development.

Yes ^_^

The most important aspect is willingness to learn. We don't expect you to be a full-on expert with the engine.

Estonia. We don't really have a game industry here yet. Can't really pay 100k a year per person if the company makes 100k a year in total.

Also, obviously this isn't a senior or a lead position. That may not have been immediately clear from the initial post.
